Saudis fear there will be ‘no more virgins’ and people will turn gay if female drive ban is lifted

Repealing a ban on women drivers in Saudi Arabia would result in ‘no more virgins’, the country’s religious council has warned.

A ‘scientific’ report claims relaxing the ban would also see more Saudis - both men and women - turn to homosexuality and pornography.

The startling conclusions were drawn by Muslim scholars at the Majlis al-Ifta’ al-A’ala, Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, working in conjunction with Kamal Subhi, a former professor at the King Fahd University.

Their report assessed the possible impact of repealing the ban in Saudi Arabia, the only country in the world where women are not allowed behind the wheel.

It was delivered to all 150 members of the Shura Council, the country’s legislative body.

The report warns that allowing women to drive would ‘provoke a surge in prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce’.

Within ten years of the ban being lifted, the report’s authors claim, there would be ‘no more virgins’ in the Islamic kingdom.

And it pointed out ‘moral decline’ could already be seen in other Muslim countries where women are allowed to drive.

In the report Professor Subhi described sitting in a coffee shop in an unnamed Arab state.

‘All the women were looking at me,’ he wrote. ‘One made a gesture that made it clear she was available... this is what happens when women are allowed to drive.’

The astonishing report comes after Shaima Jastaniya, a 34-year-old Saudi woman, was sentenced to 10 lashes with a whip after being caught driving in Jeddah.

There has been strong protest in the country about the sentence - and about the law generally.

But resistance to reform and change remains strong among conservative royals and clerics.

On September 1, 2010, armed gunmen from the Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamist Palestinian terror group Hamas, opened fire on a car carrying Jewish settlers near the Israeli city of Hebron, killing its four occupants, one of whom was a pregnant woman.

The terrorists, calling the attack an “heroic operation,” said the shooting was “a chain in a series of attacks, some have been executed, and others will follow.” True to its word, the armed killers struck the next day, opening up fire on another car filled with Jewish passengers near the city of Ramallah.

While failing to kill the occupants in that car, the militants nevertheless boasted about the near miss on their website, calling it “a new heroic operation against hateful Zionist settlers in the West Bank.”

So, in order to celebrate the courageous act of shooting unarmed, defenseless people, a pep rally in the form of a religious sermon was delivered days later by Sheik Ismail Aal Radhwan, a Hamas preacher, senior legislator and organizational spokesman.

Radhwan’s sermon — broadcast live on Hamas-controlled Al-Aqsa TV — began with heartfelt thanks to Hamas’ fearless jihadists:

We are here today to salute the mujahideen who rocked the very pillars of the occupation, and retaliated for the crimes of the occupation, in the West Bank – in Hebron and Ramallah. Indeed, we salute and honor those modest hands that proved to all the conspirators, as well as the occupation and its helpers, that they are capable of regaining their vitality. Yes, we salute the mujahideen, who killed the Zionists, who killed the settlers.

Then, Radhwan devoted the thrust of his exhortation to educating his audience on the civil and proper Islamic way to solve political problems. With a carefully worded slap at those Palestinian leaders who had publicly disapproved of the Hamas shooting, Radhwan said:

The path to the liberation of Jerusalem and Palestine is through the gun, through Jihad, and through resistance. We say today that we adhere to the option of Jihad and resistance, the option that is ridiculed by Abbas, Fayyad, and conspirators. The path that they mock is the path decreed by Allah.

As Radhwan then pointed out, Allah’s apparent disdain for peaceful negotiations is particularly loathsome if it involves dealing with Jews:

The Prophet Muhammad​ said: “There will be a hijra after the hijra, so the best on earth are those who keep to the land of the hijra of Ibrahim. Only evil people will remain in the land.” Who are the evil people?: Those who negotiate, those who hasten to normalize [relations with Israel], and those who waive [the Palestinian rights]. “No one will remain but the evil, and the land will spew them out.” That is what is happening today.

The land will spew them out, the spirit of Allah will sully them, and the Hellfire will gather them, along with the apes and pigs” – with the Jews, the Zionists, whom Allah transformed into apes and pigs. They will be gathered in the Hellfire along with those who were loyal to them and stood by them, and who abandoned the cause of the Islamic nation and of Palestine.

The Prophet Muhammad asked: “Haven’t I told you about who has the highest standing on Judgment Day?” The people said: “You have told us.” The Prophet Muhammad said: “The one with the highest standing on Judgment Day is the man who set out, the reins of his horse in his hands, for the sake of Allah. That is the mujahid, the martyrdom seeker, the one who wages resistance.

Unfortunately, viewing Jews as apes and pigs is just a small part of a much uglier Muslim view of Jews, one Radhwan expressed in a sermon he gave in 2007 on AL-Aqsa TV.

The Hour will not take place until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them, and the rock and the tree will say: “Oh, Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, kill him!

We must remind our Arab and Muslim nation, its leaders and people, its scholars and students, remind them that Palestine and the Al Aqsa mosque will not be liberated through summits nor by international resolutions, but it will be liberated through the rifle. It will not be liberated through negotiations, but through the rifle, since this occupation knows no language but the language of force… O Allah, strengthen Islam and Muslims, and bring victory to your Jihad-fighting worshipers, in Palestine and everywhere… Allah take the oppressor Jews and Americans and their supporters!

Not surprisingly, such exhortations about eliminating Jews have found fertile ground among the Palestinian people. When asked in a recent survey if Jews should be killed “wherever they hide — be it behind stones, or trees — per their Islamic Hadith,” 73 percent of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza answered in the affirmative

Hamas and its rival, Fatah, have joined together in their shared genocidal goal. A reconciliation agreement between the two groups was signed in May 2011 to pave the way to unify a Hamas-led administration in the Gaza Strip and a Fatah-led government in the West Bank, but the deal has become bogged down as both sides struggle to hammer out the specific terms of the deal.

One of the stumbling blocks in the talks has been to agree on what strategies would be used in challenging Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land. Fatah has adopted a stealth strategy, while Hamas publicly remains committed to violence as the most effective route.

When word recently leaked out that Hamas had agreed to relinquish violence as a form of resistance, it caused an uproar among the various hard line Palestinian factions, including the powerful Islamic Jihad.

In an attempt to reestablish its terrorist bona fides, Hamas was forced to furiously deny the report by quickly issuing a press release that read in part, “The armed resistance is Hamas’s unchangeable and uncompromisable program.”

Still, Hamas diplomatically offered that others, like Fatah, were free to pursue their own strategies. As Hamas spokesman Ismail Radhwan said, “All aspects of resistance are open and permissible and open to us.”

Of course, given his past public utterances, it’s safe to say where Radhwan’s true preference lies.

So, in order to celebrate the courageous act of shooting unarmed, defenseless people, a pep rally in the form of a religious sermon was delivered days later by Sheik Ismail Aal Radhwan, a Hamas preacher, senior legislator and organizational spokesman.

Radhwan’s sermon — broadcast live on Hamas-controlled Al-Aqsa TV — began with heartfelt thanks to Hamas’ fearless jihadists:

WH: ‘Democratic Process’ More Important Than Islamist Victories in Arab Nations

CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration is again playing down concerns about the rise of Islamist movements in Arab countries in transition, even as developments in Tunisia, Libya, Morocco and Egypt indicate that the so-called “Arab spring” may leave Islamists in charge clear across North Africa.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood is widely expected to dominate parliamentary elections that began without incident on Monday and will be held in three stages over the next six weeks.

“We regard these elections as a blessed portal through which Egypt shall cross safely to democracy and the transfer of power to the Egyptian people,” the Muslim Brotherhood’s political wing, the Freedom and Justice Party, said in a statement as the polls opened.

Asked during a briefing about the election and the possibility of Islamists winning, White House press secretary Jay Carney replied, “The fact of the matter is, the democratic process is what’s important.”

“Principles matter to this president, not parties,” he continued. “And we hold whatever party prevails or is represented in the outcome of an election like this – whether it’s in Egypt or elsewhere – our standards have to do with respect for human rights, respect for the democratic process, renunciation of violence, and inclusion of and respect for minorities in the process.”

Carney said it was “unfair to assume that any party that has a religious affiliation cannot adhere to democratic principles. It is simply not the case and has not been borne out by the facts.”

“So, before we judge the disposition of a government or a parliament that is only just beginning to take shape through elections that have started today, I think we need to let the process run its course, continue to espouse our firm support for democratic principles and for civilian control of the government, and then judge the outcome by the actions of those who prevail,” he said.

At the State Department, spokesman Mark Toner adopted a similar stance.

“We’ve been very clear about how we view the Muslim Brotherhood, which is that if they’re committed to the democratic process, we welcome them as a part of the political process,” he said.

Asked about organization’s support for Hamas and its views on the Arab-Israel peace process, Toner said only that “we would call on any Egyptian government to adhere to its previous commitments and agreements.”

‘Saying many of the right things’

In Morocco, the Islamist Justice and Development Party won the most seats in parliamentary elections at the weekend, and will likely produce the country’s next prime minister. Morocco largely sidestepped the wave of protests across the region this year. King Mohammed VI offered political concessions to defuse popular sentiment, although he retains overall power.

A month ago another Islamist party, Ennahda, won elections in Tunisia for a constituent assembly, which will be tasked with drafting a new constitution.

Meanwhile in Libya, a transitional leader’s remark last month about the primacy of Islamic law (shari’a) prompted concern, little allayed by his subsequent assurances that Libyans were “moderate Muslims.”

On Monday, scores of Libyan religious leaders meeting in Tripoli called for the government to ensure that the new constitution would be based on shari’a and that violations of Islam, such as the availability of alcohol, should be prohibited.

(The situation in the remaining North African country, Algeria, is in flux. Protests early this year prompted the government to announce some reforms including constitutional amendments aimed at preventing an uprising. Emboldened, Islamists are flexing their muscles. In October two senior Islamists called on Algerians to demand the closure of all bars and stores selling alcohol. Some 200,000 Algerians were killed in an Islamist insurgency launched in the early 1990s after the army banned the Islamic Salvation Front and canceled elections it was expected to win.)

Asked about the elections in Tunisia and Morocco, Toner said Monday that Ennahda has “been saying many of the right things and it’s been encouraging.”

With regard to the Justice and Development Party in Morocco, he replied, “I think we’ll wait and see how this party actually operates and the things it says publicly, as well as its governance.”

Asked whether the administration was comfortable with “the rise of Islamic fundamentalism gaining the reins of power” in the region, Toner said, “I’m not sure I’m comfortable with the premise of your question.”

“I think what we’ve seen is sweeping change across the region; one that we believe is resulting in real democratic reform – the kind of reform we’ve long believed is necessary for many of these countries. And this process continues to play out.”

After meeting with senior European Union officials at the White House on Monday, President Obama told reporters they had “spent a lot of time discussing how we can be supportive of the best elements of what’s taking place in North Africa and the Middle East, continuing to encourage democracy, continuing to encourage transparency, continuing to encourage economic development – because we’ve both agreed that the aspirations that were expressed in Egypt and Tunisia and in Libya are not simply political issues but they’re also economic issues, and that we have to do everything we can to support increased opportunity for young people.”

Monday’s remarks build on earlier ones by administration officials, emphasizing the view that – in Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s words – “what parties call themselves is less important than what they do.”

“The suggestion that faithful Muslims cannot thrive in a democracy is insulting, dangerous and wrong,” Clinton told a National Democratic Institute awards dinner earlier this month.

What was important, she said, was an adherence to democratic principles.

During a press briefing on Oct. 25, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland also disputed a reporter’s premise that there was a “rise of fundamentalism in Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt.”

“I think what we are seeing is we are seeing newly democratic, newly free people and populations feeling their way forward,” she said.

A day earlier, she responded to a question about shari’a forming the basis of countries’ legal systems by saying that the term shari’a “has a broad application and is understood differently in different places and by different commentators.”

“We’ve seen various Islamic-based democracies wrestle with the issue of establishing rule of law within an appropriate cultural context,” Nuland said. “But the number one thing is that universal human rights, rights for women, rights for minorities, right to due process, right to transparency be fully respected.”
