Re: Human Shields In Gaza - REPLY TO PHILOXENIA # 2

Hello Amanda

Thank you for your kind comments.

I don't think Mennonites settled in New Zealand but I
am sure if they had known that there was good farm
land there, they would have been there, and you
would have remembered them because they were a
rather unusual bunch especially those who lived in
the colonies.

My surname is not under that much scrutiny in general
but here at Adland, Georgios was making some comments
about it so I thought rather than reply only to him I would
put my comments out for all who might  (or not) be
wondering.  I know I have wondered about one thing or
another in the past and appreciated it when someone
explained it so I thought I would do likewise.

Georgios

Just in case you think I am making up all these things about
my name, go to this Mennonite website to see a list of
Mennonite surnames.  Click on the E for a list of names
beginning with E.  It's an obituary list of Mennonites.   I am
not on that list  ...yet.  lol

Re: Human Shields In Gaza - KING HUSSEIN RIP (1999)

Hello Friends,

After posting my remembrance for the anniversary of King Hussein's death I made a decision that will effect this thread. As I mentioned previously in different posts I started this thread in order to balance the biased international media coverage in our area.

My good friend Georgios didn't like what I was doing for reasons that only he knows and started his own thread that was supposed to counter this one but turned into what I can only consider to be a hate thread. There was a bit of bantering back and forth but I already wrote previously that I will no longer play this “game”.

Today after posting the memorial in honor of King Hussein's death I remembered something that he and his friends don't know or fully comprehend. We in Israel want peace with our neighbors. King Hussein reminded me that we live in peace with 2 of our neighbors; Egypt and Jordan. Both were enemies and fought against us in most of the wars in this area. In the end I believe we will live in peace with all our neighbors regardless of how dire things seem today. The basic difference is that our neighbors know we desire peace and consider it a weakness but in fact it is our major strength. We will do all in our power to gain that peace but will defend our selves throughout the process.

After consideration I decided to not reply to any of the hate posts any more cos I have no need to prove our morality to anyone. It is evident and obvious to all objective people. I stress the objective cos there is no way to convince an antisemite, anti Zionist or anti Israel individual to change his ingrained thoughts, beliefs and biased opinions.

I'm through replying and will continue to post about the current events and leave them to write to each other. Participating any further will simply create a war here in the community and believe me when I say I fought in real wars and a war of words is child's play in comparison but one that is totally unnecessary and not in my sphere of interests.

One point I found a bit hard to comprehend though. Reading his thread filled with hate I saw that a few members that claim unconditional love for all posted their “love” there a few times. They either didn't read the thread and posted for the sake of posting or they read it and are in agreement with what is written there. If that's the case I am content and happy that those people aren't friends of mine and I wonder if they truly comprehend the meaning of true love.

Shalom,

Peter

Hello Peter

I appreciate your comments.  Thank you!

I, like you, respect peoples' rights to choose the
"religion" of their choice.  God gave us all a free will
to make choices and who am I to grant someone
any less even if I do not agree with the choice.  He
even gives us a free will to do evil.

Although I respect peoples' right to choose, I cannot
always respect the religion.  For example, how could I
respect Islam when I believe it to be a lie straight from
Satan himself?  It would be like asking me to respect
Satan.  I could explain this but I don't think this is the
forum to do it.   Perhaps I can, at some times, say
something about it as it relates to this forum's
objectives.

At the same time, I have to fight for the right for others
to be able to choose because if I do not, then what is
stopping me from losing my right to choose.

I just want to say this.....

I have Muslim friends so I am not against them or their
right to choose but I cannot accept anything about their
religion.  And I shouldn't have to do so and neither do
they have to accept anything about my beliefs.

I don't have a religion per se.  I have a personal
relationship with Jesus, my wonderful Savior.  He is
my God, my everything.  I don't believe in "religion".
Religion is a man-made institution.  God wants to
have a personal relationship with us, not a bunch
of rituals.

As far as the Muslim faith believing all non-believers
of Islam/Allah should be killed, it is not entirely true.
Their Qu'ran says they are not to compel anyone to
become Muslim.  They are to be given a choice to
convert or pay a levy (tax) if they do not wish to
convert.  The problem with that is they make non-
believers into second rate citizens.  It's an unfair
system but at least you get to live albeit not with
freedom.

The Muslims extremists often do kill the unbelievers
and often without giving them the opportunity to
convert to Islam but it is not what the Qu'ran says.
But then the Qu'ran goes on to say if they do not
pay the fee and do not convert, the Muslim is
instructed in the Qu'ran to slash their throat from
one side of the head to the other.

It looks to me like these particular extremists are
filled with hate and rage and are truly demon-
possessed and they are  using the Islam religion
as an excuse to do what they enjoy most which is
to kill ...anybody and anything.  How else do you
explain the horrific things they are doing AND
enjoying it?  Brigitte Gabriel talks about an instance
where a little baby is torn in two while alive by
these monsters.  There are other stories where
toddlers' arms and legs are amputated.  Why the
babies?  Do you see why I see Satan in them?  I
think you would have to be possessed to do such
things.  This is a viewpoint you will not hear
discussed in the media.

On the other hand, take a look at Israel.  Are they
doing cruelties like this?  I have heard how Israel
gives free medical help to everyone, even the
Palestinians.  I hear how Israel is looking for ways
to help the ordinary Palestinians.  I hear also how
Israelis hire Palestinians and Arabs.  Also Israel
lets other religions practice in their country without
restriction  ...as long as they are not there to
strap on a bomb and kill.  Many of the Islamic
countries do not allow churches or synagogues to
be built there and if there are any churches there
they are being destroyed one by one.  Bibles are
not allowed in Saudi Arabia and in other countries
for all I know.  It is sickening ...all of it.  How can
I respect such a belief system?  I cannot.

How do my emails always get so long?  Shame on
me.

God bless you and yours!

Helen

HI Helen,

Thanks for popping in again. There should actually be no issue cos of a name. When we look back in history we find that the origins of names were varied and for different reasons. For some the name of the trade they were in or the area they came from.

In essence it makes no difference what a persons name is and aside from a woman marrying and taking the name of her husband it's out of our control unless we dislike it so much we legally change it.

See you soon and Shalom,

Peter

Hi Steve,

Thanks for commenting here and your short post said it all.

Cowards seems to define their behavior best. Not only do they use women and children as shields, they fire their rockets from hospitals, schools, mosques, residential areas, UN buildings and so much more. Where are the leaders of the Hamas when the fighting starts? Hiding in the tunnels and amongst the civilian population.

There's one video here that shows a Hamas soldier while running away grabbing a child to use as a shield and dragging him behind him until he gets to his friends and then the child is "used".

Thanks again & Shalom,

Peter
