Re: IT'S TIME TO VOTE FOR THE 2008 PERSON OF THE YEAR - POTY
1/13/2009 7:21:23 AM

Howdy Team,

The year has ended and I want to express my gratitude for all the work the three of you put into this forum each week. Thank you all very much. I appreciate you all for working so hard to keep this forum on track. The three of you are great friends and wonderful people.

Now, I have something to say and you are more than welcome to delete this post if you feel the need. But from looking at the rest of the post here this is mild.

I find it interesting each time something big like the POTY award or prize money such as the Forum of the month with a prize of $200.00 and the Forum of the year with a hefty $1000.00 prize comes into play.  It seems the popular vote that time held a lot of clout now didn’t it?  Each time many new people vote and do not post and how large the numbers of voters suddenly appear. It shows that something is going on in the background to me and I am sure I am not alone in this assumption. In the resent past, there have been weeks with only a hand full of candidates and less than 50 votes and as soon as it was time to choose the,” Person of the Year.” The numbers quadrupled in only a matter of days into the race. Does anyone else find this unusual? I for one have been here long enough to see these kinds of actions more than once in the past. I am also sure I am not alone in this theory either.

There are folks that have to cheat and manipulate to win. These same folks churn out words of love, how G-dly they are around the community; like sweet water flowing from a stream. When you take a closer look inside, you find empty shells, manipulating posers with the vilest of hearts. Look at their actions as they speak louder than mere empty words. My question is why they would need to cheat in order to win if they truly had so many friends.  Does honesty have no value? Does cheating show love and respect not only for ones self but for others? What ever happened to fair play? What about human dignity or do you have any left. I guess those kinds of words are foreign to people that conduct themselves with such behavior. Cheating, lying and manipulating in order to win a contest.

I am not calling names because you all know whom you are and I hope this post stings you to the very core of your being but than again, you have to have a heart to feel pain.

I considered it necessary to say something about the horrid actions here in Adlandpro as of late.

Blessings to all my friends and enemies as well,

Geketa

To Geketa's post   + 1

At least, try to remember that there were some other nominees and we have to respect them too. Winner is a winner but all those who participated to the POTY must have our respect too.

My two pennies (although my English are not good but at least I'm proud I can handle a second language besides of my mother language!).

Thanks,

Dimitra

Hi Geketa and Everyone,

I felt there was a problem with this contest since the nominations forum was closed early.

It went from the nominations forum closing at midnight Jan 5th to this ...

"Nominations will end  on 1/4 or 1/5/2009 depending on the volume of nominations still being posted."

I don't get this being a way to hold a contest.

Yes the nominations forum was opened Posted: 12-27-2008 05:53 AM the closing date was 1/4/08 for US and 1/5/08 for the other half of the world where Peter is from.

We are a Global Community and I surely believe with 7 full days to announce your choices, was sufficient for everyone to add their nominations.

Thanks for allowing me to enlighten those that may have questions in their minds.

Jim

PS.  Georgios your rage has been your downfall in the past.  We are well aware that you deleted everything on your own free will.  Remember?  I do!
