Re: JOE BUCCHERI WANTS TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS

This is an excerpt from an article in today's Knoxville News Sentinel:

Obama's radically pro-abortion views are long held. Last week, Politico.com reported on a Harvard Law Review article authored by Obama in 1990 in which Obama concurred with an Illinois Supreme Court ruling that blocked fetuses from suing their mother for negligence. As a state senator, Obama spoke against a bill that would have required doctors to provide medical care to babies born alive during a botched abortion.

ill Stanek, a former Chicago nurse, testified before Congress in 2001 that some abortionists didn't attempt to kill the baby in the uterus. Instead, they delivered it prematurely and allowed it to die during the birth process or shortly afterward. "It is not uncommon for a live aborted baby to linger for an hour or two or even longer," Stanek said. "At Christ Hospital, one … lived for almost an entire eight-hour shift."

Even though Congress unanimously approved a federal "born-alive" bill, Obama was concerned the Illinois law would undermine Roe v. Wade. Apparently, Obama couldn't determine if a living, breathing, kicking, crying child in a surgical suite has human rights.

Obama's not the only Democrat whose moral compass is malfunctioning. Asked last week when life begins, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, "I would say that as an ardent, practicing Catholic, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time. And what I know is, over the centuries, the doctrines of the church have not been able to make that definition. St. Augustine said at three months. We don't know. The point is, is that it shouldn't have an impact on a woman's right to choose. I don't think anybody can tell you when life begins, human life begins." One Catholic congressman suggested Pelosi find another church.

Abortion has become a key Democratic doctrine. Gone from the Democratic platform is language that called for abortion to be "safe, legal and rare." Instead, the 2008 platform defiantly states, "The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right."

Democrats talk obliquely about reducing the number of abortions and have begrudgingly budged a bit to accommodate the rare pro-life Democrat. But, at their core and in the upper echelons, this batch of Democrats is the most anti-life America has seen in a generation. Apparently Democrats value votes more than life, and all their talk about compassion is but empty, religious-sounding rhetoric as long as they adamantly refuse to protect the most helpless among us.

Lots of people are still asking "What are Barack Obama's 3 major accomplishments, why does he deserve the presidential nomination?"

INFO ABOUT SARAH PALIN, McCain's choice of VP:

Sarah Palin became a mayor at age 32, beating out a 3-term incumbent mayor from her same party.  That's hard to do!  One of Obama's campaign people put out an instant statement saying she was ONLY the mayor of a town of 9,000!  A town of 9,000 is more people than Obama, Clinton or Biden has ever been responsible for!

===>>> She's been Governor of Alaska since December 2006, a state of 670,000 residents, and has an 80% approval rating!  The people of Alaska say she's accomplished more in 20 months than her predecessor accomplished in 12 years.  She was the youngest at age 42 and the first female governor of Alaska!

===>>> Alaska had one of the most, if not THE most corrupt governments of all the states before she became governor.  She stood up to the corruption and many of those legislators have since left office in shame.  In 20 months, she has vetoed more than 300 wasteful spending bills, stopping more waste in her state than any other governor has done in their states.

Most legislators in Alaska are Republicans, so Palin stood up to people from her own political party because she saw wrongdoings and wanted to put things right.

As McCain said when introducing her, "We need a government that STANDS UP FOR US...NOT STANDS IN OUR WAY!!!"

===>>> Sarah Palin has done a lot of traveling around that huge state, many of the towns are far apart, and she has put in more personal effort and has met more people face-to-face than the governors of most states.  Most senators don't travel around their states meeting people in faraway towns in every corner of their states.

Alaska is one of our most important energy-producing states and she knows a lot about energy resources.  She's the ONLY governor or senator who has ever been to ANWAR, and can give the best information and advice about possible drilling there.

She outshines Obama AND Clinton and Biden.  Senators just push papers around and sign a few things once in awhile, and don't even work every day, they show up when they feel like it.  Governors are in charge of entire states and responsible for all the people in their state, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

===>>> Obama has only put in 140 working days in the senate.  Palin has been governor of an entire state for 600 days, 24 hours a day, governing over 670,000 people with an 80% approval rating.

Mike Huckabee, the Governor of Arkansas, said a governor gets more experience in 1 month than a senator gets in numerous years.  Governors are basically running their own small countries.  Sarah Palin is more ready than any long-term senator.

John McCain is a senator, but he was also a Navy Commander during a war, in charge of the safety of many people, in charge of their planes and equipment.  He's ready, and she's ready, they are BOTH more well-prepared to be President and VP than Obama and Biden, or Hillary Clinton.

In the Democratic Primary, I was A Clinton supporter.

Ive been tired of Bush and his policies for the last eight years, But I have to say that I can not in good conscience vote for Obama. It disturbs me greatly that he took the american flag off of his campaign plane, and too many other things that just rub me the wrong way.

On the other side, Sarah Palin is the most refreshing face I have seen in years in National Politics. McCain has won my vote because I believe he is ready to run my country, and Obama and his inexperience doesn't even come close.
