Hello Nick & Friends,
Well my good friend Nick I don't think this thread turned out the way you thought. I was deeply impressed with your initial post and those that you added later on cos the object as I understood it was to show that regardless of a persons belief or disbelief there will be a chance for what you call redemption.
It is no secret that I am not a follower of the New Testament but I am and have been a student of the Torah, Mishna, Talmud and a bit of Kaballah. I agree with you that we all should respect others belief structures whatever they might be. No good will come out of finger pointing and ridiculing comments made by others whether they are based on a film, book or any other source of information they might put before us.
Each and every one of us has our own way of understanding and seeing "truths" that might not gibe with an others understanding. I won't say mine is better then yours only that it is what I believe. I'll respect yours and I expect you to do the same with mine and others beliefs.
Nick, thanks for a well thought out and worded post; it's a shame that others didn't understand it as I did. Who knows, maybe I misunderstood but I hope not.
Shalom,
Peter
