A good book is worth it's weight in gold.  I was talking to my Mom, and she said she still has the set of Britannica Encyclopedias she bought when I was 6 months old.  I asked her to keep good care of them as I remember reading them from a-Z when I was growing up.

Now they are valuable to keep the revisionist straight on the facts.  :-)
