Hi Terry, thank you for sharing your views.  It pays to keep an open mind, even though sometimes our beliefs do differ.

Pierre, you too, my friend have a way with words. I always look forward to your words of inspiration. I can see you put some time and thought into the post you made.

To all who refuse to use God's holy name, if these Bible verses don't convince you of the importance of using it, praising it, proclaiming it, preaching it, nothing will.  In all of these instances the holy name appears where it once was before man, through Satan's evil influence, struck it from their bibles and replaced it with the titles of G-O-D and L-O-R-D, which are not names.

Just as you and I have a personal name, so does Jehovah God, and just as you and I would think it disrespectful for people who know us to refuse to use our personal name, how much more so it is disrespectful to refuse to use Almighty God's personal and holy name!

Why, the very name of Jesus means "Jehovah is salvation" and was prophetic of his role as Savior or Jehovah’s means of salvation. (Matt. 1:21; Luke 2:30). A word that many of you use, "Hallelujah," means "praise Jehovah."  The name Isaiah means "Salvation of Jehovah."  John (English equivalent of Jehohan), means "Jehovah Has Shown Favor; Jehovah Has Been Gracious."

Below are just a sampling of the over 7,000 times where your bibles have been changed from the original scriptures to dishonor our loving Creator, the Most High, the Almighty God, Jehovah God!  Take particular note of the verses which inform you what will happen to those refusing to use it! (in blue print)

Ps. 83:18, "That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Isaiah 42:8, "I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images."

Malachi 2: 1 & 2, "And now this commandment is to YOU, O priests.  If YOU will not listen, and if YOU will not lay [it] to heart to give glory to my name," Jehovah of armies has said, "I shall also certainly send upon YOU the curse, and I will curse YOUR blessings."

Malachi 3:16, "At that time those in fear of Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance began to be written up before him for those in fear of Jehovah and for those thinking upon his name."

Ps. 96: 2, "Sing to Jehovah, bless his name. From day to day tell the good news of salvation by him."

Ps. 100:4, "Come into his gates with thanksgiving, Into his courtyards with praise.  Give thanks to him, bless his name."

Ps. 113, 1 & 2 & 3, "Praise Jah, YOU people! Offer praise, O YOU servants of Jehovah, Praise the name of JehovahMay Jehovah’s name become blessed from now on and to time indefinite.  From the rising of the sun until its setting Jehovah’s name is to be praised.

Ps. 148: 5, "Let them praise the name of Jehovah; For he himself commanded, and they were created."

:13, "Let them praise the name of Jehovah, For his name alone is unreachably high.  His dignity is above earth and heaven."

Romans 10:13, "For everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved."

Hebrews 6:10, "For God is not unrighteous so as to forget YOUR work and the love YOU showed for his name, in that YOU have ministered to the holy ones and continue ministering."

Rev. 11:18, " But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give [their] reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth."

The sanctification of Jehovah's name is the supreme issue that faces all of us.  How can you do that if you refuse to use it?  You cannot!

Terry

Terry, this discussion is not about using God's name, or about those who may or may not have changed the bible. Your bible has been changed also. Let's try to keep this discussion in line with the topic please. I see you are pointing fingers again. Remember, this is an open forum, and I don't appreciate it when you try to put other people down because they differ from how you believe. I appreciate the due diligence you have done concerning the texts you provided. I will not dispute those. Let's get off the topic of Jehovah's name and save it for the appropriate time and discussion. Thank you.

I would like to share some more information here concerning Sister Ellen White. Some of you may not know who she was, and there is a wealth of information available about her. Please take a look:

-----------------------

There are many official books available for purchase online about the Life and Work of Ellen G. White.

In brief, she was a woman of remarkable spiritual gifts who lived most of her life during the nineteenth century (1827-1915), yet through her writings she is still making a revolutionary impact on millions of people around the world.

During her lifetime she wrote more than 5,000 periodical articles and 40 books; but today, including compilations from her 50,000 pages of manuscript, more than 100 titles are available in English.

She is the most translated woman writer in the entire history of literature, and the most translated American author of either gender.

Her writings cover a broad range of subjects, including religion, education, social relationships, evangelism, prophecy, publishing, nutrition, and management. Her life-changing masterpiece on successful Christian living, Steps to Christ, has been published in more than 140 languages.

Seventh-day Adventists believe that Mrs. White was more than a gifted writer; they believe she was appointed by God as a special messenger to draw the world's attention to the Holy Scriptures and help prepare people for Christ's second advent. From the time she was 17 years old until she died 70 years later, God gave her approximately 2,000 visions and dreams. The visions varied in length from less than a minute to nearly four hours. The knowledge and counsel received through these revelations she wrote out to be shared with others. Thus her special writings are accepted by Seventh-day Adventists as inspired, and their exceptional quality is recognized even by casual readers.

Note: As stated in Seventh-day Adventists Believe..., “The writings of Ellen White are not a substitute for Scripture. They cannot be placed on the same level. The Holy Scriptures stand alone, the unique standard by which her and all other writings must be judged and to which they must be subject.”

--Seventh-day Adventists Believe, Ministerial Association, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Washington D.C., 1988, p. 227.--

Yet, as Ellen White herself noted, “The fact that God has revealed His will to men through His Word, has not rendered needless the continued presence and guiding of the Holy Spirit. On the contrary, the Spirit was promised by our Saviour to open the Word to His servants, to illuminate and apply its teachings” (The Great Controversy, p. vii).

Following is a more detailed account of the life and work of this remarkable woman who, meeting all the tests of a true prophet as set forth in the Holy Scriptures, helped found the Seventh-day Adventist church.
