Bonjour Gaby! De rien mon amie! I'm glad I sent you down nostalgia lane!  You are right about the ambiance. When one walks into the post office or a shop or wherever, here in France, you automatically say "Bonjour" and everyone around answers with a bonjour. When I'm England and I walk into a shop or the post office etc I open my mouth to say Bonjour or Good morning...... and feel really silly.
