Thanks for the words, Trina... I can't believe that people ACTUALLY believe ONE particular administration, or that ONE man's term in office, for that matter, is solely responsible for the plight of America! And, if that weren't bad enough it's being suggested that the Clintons are the 1st to reap rewards of having been the First Family, all at the tax payers' expense. Which we all know is utter non-sense. Wow! It just "boggles" the mind! Hugs, Robin

Hi Dave,

Good luck with this one.LOL  I happen to agree with you and your way of thinking, but I do believe we are in the minority.

Thank you for the insightful article.

Hi all,

dangerous subject this - as feelings run very high around the world.

However just one small and to several like me, - interesting point.  This week we watched President Bush make a comment that 'we didn't ask for this War' - i.e. referring to Iraq.  Can I ask who did ask for it?  I have no recollection of Saddam Hussein declaring war on the US - but is this another thing I missed?

I love the bits about Bill Clinton - and the comments that HE taught a child about oral sex.  Wonderful stuff - I had the distinct recollection that he tried like Hell to HIDE all that stuff, but the American media (and presumably audiences) just lapped it up (sorry maybe that was worded badly).

When you refer Dave to his dropping the ball - I admit to choking with laughter on my cornflakes. Under the circumstances surely he had some help in avoiding doing just that!

You guys were far more fascinated with his sexual exploits than his political ones, so if he was a little unfocussed (sorry another image springs to mind), then I think this was not altogether his fault.

Seriously though we did see Clinton make many and serious attempts to sort out the Middle East situation - far more than any previous President of my recollection, and certainly more than the incumbent.

Finally it is interesting to see that in Democrats eyes Bush can do no right, and in Republican eyes he can do no wrong. However the fact remains that as with Blair in the UK he was not elected just once - but twice (Blair 3 times), so you can't stand back and blame everyone else for this. When you vote him/them into power again - and with known philosophies and attitudes, YOU have made the choice. I think it is called democracy?

Hi to everyone. This has become an interesting discussion, as I rather thought it would. Politics have a way of drawing out many differing views. My personal belief is that the practice some prefer of never discussing religion or politics is sad, as healthy discussion is what helps to shape, change, and sometimes, perhaps, even improve our society. One comment about them all being politicians in the end, regardless of whether they are Republicans or Democrats is spot on. Someone once very truthfully said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Few are immune. My point in this particular thread is not to accuse Mr. Clinton of being the cause of all the troubles in the world today, but simply to point out that it is ridiculous to blame Mr. Bush for all the present troubles. They have been developing and growing for many presidential tenures and do not have a simple or immediate solution. Norm really hit the nail on the head: ========================================================================= Finally it is interesting to see that in Democrats eyes Bush can do no right, and in Republican eyes he can do no wrong. However the fact remains that as with Blair in the UK he was not elected just once - but twice (Blair 3 times), so you can't stand back and blame everyone else for this. When you vote him/them into power again - and with known philosophies and attitudes, YOU have made the choice. I think it is called democracy? ============================================================================ Democracy seems to be the best system we have, but it also proves without any doubt that the majority is not necessarily always right. God bless, Dave

Hello Dave,

I have to agree with Robin 100% here! Come on Dave, Bin Laden's family was right here in the United States, in the White House when 9/11 happened! And what did they do with the family when everything went down? They secretly whisked them away to an unknown location under heavy protection by Bush's Secret Service!

Do you actually believe that Osama Bin Laden hasn't been caught by now because they can't find him? If you believe that one then I have some nice swamp land I want to sell you in the Everglades! Bin Laden is a member of the Royal Family which makes him untouchable..let's get realistic.

Oh, and let's not forget to mention the fact that Bush sat in a classroom for over 10 minutes even after being told about the 2nd plane hitting the twin towers! What was all that about? Hummmmm...I wonder!

So as Robin said, in the end they are all politicians no matter what party they are affiliated with... none of them have the American people's best interest at heart.

Take care and God Bless,

Marilyn
