I have Canadian friends and others who have moved there to work/live.

I, as a Brit, am proud to have a Commonwealth link. It sticks in the throat of some French Canadians and others to be attached to our monarchy in Britain but others are proud of the links.

Canadians have a gentle northern American accent to British ears and there are aspects of their law, government and tradditions which feel very familiar.

Canada has a record to be proud of in World War II but have a very peaceful history.

I pray that Canadians continue to represent a calm influence on world affairs while still accepting their responsibility of their role in protection of the west.
