Hello JoAnne!

Thank you for the replies and for mentioning the Armenians. They celebrate Easter together with the rest of the Orthodox community. Their beliefs are closer to us but they have many  of the sacraments close to the Catholics. They make their cross like the Catholics and are autonome, The Armenian Apostolic Oriental Orthodox Church.

I will mention the Armenian Church in the front page and update here.

Armenian Orthodox Church
Christianity was declared as state religion for first time in Armenia in AD 301. This was largely due to the efforts of St. Gregory the Illuminator. He converted Armenia's king Tiridates III, who had formerly perse-cuted the Christians. It was St. Gregory who built the Mother Church at Etchmiadzin in AD 303.

Hello Georgios,

Thank you for your wonderful presentation.

It's fun that my catholic friends ask me what am I going to do with my Easter Vacations. It's a long time for us to have Easter, more than a month.

Regards,

Dimitra

Georgios,

Thanks again for another wonderful thread. Not only do I enjoy learning of other cultures and how they celebrate holidays similar to our own, but the architecture almost always seems to overwhelm me to no end. And I especially loved the structures atop Meteora, but seeing Konstantinople's building last almost 1500 years (less than 25 years short, to be exact), really took me.

This morning I went to Church and took communion for the first time in over 25 years or more (I lost count, actually). This church was no where near what is in Europe, but I was very pleased to find they not only have a pipe organ but also play it every Sunday. I have a new home.

I won't say how this plays out against my earthly pagan beliefs, but that's "MY" religion, and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, keep up the good work, as always.

Hello Dimitra!

Thank you for the nice Eggs! When I lived in Sweden we used to celebrate Easter both the Orthodox and the Lutheran, twice in one month.

Let's see what I can find for you!. There is a nice little church in the heart of Peloponnese. If it haven't burned down last summner I will find it. The burnings were in that region. I remember the name Santa Theodora, in Arcadia.

A miracle of nature.

Hi Georgios,

What a joy to have you as a friend.  I am always amazed at what you come up with.  I especially like this building with the trees coming out of it.  Cool
Thank you for your wonderful site.
