Georgios this is a wonderous presentation of Long Friday, which here in USA was last week as we call Good Friday.  It does not matter when we celebrate for all those who believe, it is a sad and joyous time.

We have a very similar customs.

Great Friday is always very silent at Belgrade .

I wish I can be now there.

But very early at the Sunday morning, it would be an explosion of the joy and singing.

First morning Liturgy begins at the 5 AM ... Crowds of people at each of a many churches.

Easter is really the most joyful holiday at my country.

I wish to you and family, also to all Orthodox Christians , a very blessed and happy Easter.

Today in the Temple of the Coffin of the Lord in Jerusalem was an annual miracle - occurrence of fertile fire.

It occurs in a Holy Saturday on the eve of Orthodox Easter.

Under the legend if fertile fire does not appear this day, it will mean a doomsday, Armagedon, that year.

Fertile fire arises on a stone bed on which the body of the Christ lay three days after execution.

 At first fertile fire does not burn.

Lighted from fertile fixtures will be transported in Orthodox temples of Russia and other countries.
