What about quality?

We all have a profile. We should all have a picture. We should be using the blogs. We should be utilizing the forums, even free members can have one. We should have an about me page that isn't all about an opportunity, but tells about who we are. What about testimonials? If people like you and give you good testimonials that would be a good way to measure your activity and friendlyness wouldn't it?

WE've already established and you've admitted that the number of posts isnt' all that great for determining a person's activity because a lot of people make a lot of needless and useless posts to bring up their post count. Would you advise someone like Lee to go and post a lot of junk just to raise hers?

Doing things the way they've always been done just because they've always been done that way doesn't make it the right way. It's just how someone else always did it. Am I rocking the boat too much? Sometimes it needs to be rocked. Sometimes things just need to be changed for the better.

Who makes the rules? Isn't this a community where the members can have some say in how things work? If something isn't working, then why can't it be changed?
If we're not allowed to make comments or say what's on our mind then this community is going to be a big mess before long if it's not already. I think this should go up for a vote and I think you'll find that I'm not the only one who feels this way. If it's decided otherwise then I'll shut my mouth and won't say another word but I think that more than a few people should decide this.

You are assuming that part of the things you mentioned weren't taken into account which means that you haven't read the replies made by Jim in the nomination forum and by my self. BTW, Lee has neither

It's all taken into account. But the posts do have a weight factor in the deciding whether the person qualifies or not. I did not admit that the number of posts isn't a relevant criteria. I stated that there are those that have thousands of posts and don't qualify for the POTW cos of the type of posts they made. Namely advertising posts only or mainly.

We will review the criteria, maybe add on a few too but the fact that at this point in time Lee doesn't qualify is a fact. I personally will be very happy when she will.

As for advising Lee to post irrelevant posts in order to get her stats up I wouldn't but feel free to do so if you wish. She can post every 5 minutes "hey guys I'm surfing" and by next week she'll certainly qualify. They would definitely be relevant and quality posts, wouldn't they?

BTW, for your information and after reading your suggestions that you assumed we didn't take into account. Lee's forum is inactive (since Jan 2008), she hasn't got a blog, hasn't got a gallery, has 4 votes & her "about me" tells us nothing about her at all. Lee's been a member since Dec 2007 and has 181 posts. According to your suggestions she doesn't qualify yet either.

I will add this though. I personally don't think that having your own active forum is all that important if you are contributing in other forums with quality posts. Not everybody wants to run his own forum but adds and contributes to many good forums here in adland. I you do have a good forum all the better but it is not a deciding criteria or factor.

After we review the criteria and decide on add ons or deletions we'll post in the relevant forums.

When I posted in this forum last night that Lee did not qualify for POTW nomination, I never ment to start a war. I was merely wanting to point out the fact that according to the POTW rules she was not at this time able to be nominated.

If she does want this in the near futher than she herself should make the effort to do so on her own.

I have been here in Adland for over a year now and yes there has been some unfair voting .. and other hopla in the POTW and I have tried hard to stay out of it for the most part.

People are human and we all make mistakes . non of us are perfect as the only perfect one died over 2000 years ago. He did that for forgiveness of sin. We should take his example and do the same and move on.

Everyone on this team are wonderful people and I love working with you all.

Hello everyone!, Yes, I maybe a bit slow in responding but responding to posts is nothing foreign to me as I know many of you are well aware of.

I am here just like everyone else...working for the good of the community and primarily now for the wonderful HIVE TEAM. 

I am quite flattered that there are those who thought enough of me to want me to be nominated in the first place.

I also know that being the humble person that I am, I wouldnt hold a candle to the many that are POTW material.  I am as God created me.  I have much to give and do that whenever possible.

I show an inactive forum simply because whenever I had forums posted, I never had any responses...merely solicitations from other's promoting themselves.

Things have changed. ..and things will continue to change....

One day, when the world is right, including the world of Adland, you will see me as the POTW.

Thanks Larry. Miss Lee Smith should smile she is the one singing on our video. I have also contacted some of my radio DJ's they will be advertising the hive song, sung by Miss Smith. She has a awesome voice.

She may be on that main stage one day. So the little things dont even matter.
