Hi all, Amanda says that she is so thankful and overwhelmed by our kindness. Hopefully she will be able to articulate that in a little bit, but the horse has her tongue right now. Just kidding, I'm sure she be dropping in at any time! Thanks, Steve

Hello Stephen and friends,

Thank you for your POTD (person of the Day or maybe Pets of the Day! *grin*) thread on 'little ole me' It is quite a surprise.  Yes I loved the movie Flicka..

I have loved horses ever since I was a little girl and
my first pony was a gelding name Jack he was 14.2
hands high and 20 years old.  He had been my elder sisters pony and she had received many prizes of first place on him all through Pony Club and up the ranks to be an A Grade pony.
In other words he was an all around pony.  He taught
me alot in the three years that I rode him because he
could jump anything, out trot any other pony and out
bend any other pony (I often almost lost my seating
because he could bend and turn so quickly on a dime)
However on the down side of his character when he
had had enough of jumping, bending or whatever we
were doing - that was it, he was not going to do anymore no matter how much I tried to encourage him!

The other downside I learned to my injury, he did not
like to have another rider behind me when he was wearing a saddle - bareback he would let as many kids on him as could fit up on his back!  Saddled was a different story and one day I let a girl up on behind me
when he was saddled and he bucked and the girl behind
me instead on holding onto me she brought her hands around in front and hung onto the pommel of the saddle. All that bucking broke the straps on the saddle and we both got tossed off and I landed on the upside down saddle dislocating my shoulder and breaking my arm.  I was in hospital for 2 weeks and placed in 16 lbs of plaster from neck to waist with my left arm bent and sticking out for about 2 months. At age 14 this was a great inconvenience.
It was years before my shoulder finally mended that I do not have any weakness

My other pets I had each year for many years was orphaned lambs, now they are so cute and cuddly and have such character.  My bestest lamby friend that
I remember and loved the most was Whiskers.  This
was before I owned a pony and Whiskers and I were
like 'Mary had a little lamb' He followed me where
ever I went and when he got big I made up a little bridle and sack saddle and rode him.  We would lay down the bottom of our front yard in the sun with me resting my head on his stomach and I would tell him
my day.

Having dogs for pets has been a new experience for
me as my late father owned working sheep dogs and they did not live in the house so I did not have a lot
to do with them as a pet.
James wanted me to have a dog for company and unfortunately we had several disappointments owning and keeping our doggy friends back in the Manufactered Park in Oregon, with the strict rules until Max and
Minnie Mae due to they either escaped from the yard and maybe someone keeping them and another time
the owner taking back again.  It was quite hard and I wondered if I was even suppose to own a dog as they seemed to to not like us, probably from my nervousness of breaking their Park rules!.  It has been less stressful
owning our own piece of land that our puppies can run around on and not have other people telling us what
to do.

Well, for our country way of life now, JD Premium Products just goes hand in hand, especially as it is hormone free and our other products are toxin free
and organic.
I had never eatten jerky until I came to the States as it was not a product that was available back in New Zealand - I am not sure why not because 'Kiwi' are big meat eatters and especially beef and mutton or lamb, afterall NZ has the saying that we have 60 million
sheep and 4 million people. Sheep everywhere little
dots of white out in the paddocks as you drive along
the roads.  Wool is one of our exports too.

I also promote BigCrumbs (join free) as you can earn cash back for shopping from over 200 retail stores and buying and selling on eBay as well as your eBay store in advertised for free. Now that Yuwie has joined in this
community is really rocking.

Well I reckon I have rambled on long enough so better
close off for now.
Thank you Stephen.

Kind regards
Amanda

Stephen,
Thats because I have a profile in many communities
