Hi Brother Nick!

I am glad you came back with this information. I did hear something about this awhile back. Hopefully this is only a short term problem.

So you are investing in honey thats not a bad idea. However if the problem is short term then you will have enough honey to take a bath in it at least once a week.lol

Lets all be kind to the honey bee!

Thanks Nick!

Hello Len,

It is a shame that our bee population is on the decline.  This past year I saw almost no honey bees.

When I was in high school in Florida, we lived close to a bee keeper named Boettger, he taught my mother about beekeeping and she started her own hives here in Indiana.   She built her own hives, the boxes, combs and had an extractor.  It was all set up in her garage and everyone helped to wire the combs and build the boxes for the hives.  And of course extract the honey and expecially eat it!!!  The honey was so much better than any you could buy in the stores.   She was severely allergic to bee stings, but she loved caring for her bees.  She always carried an auto injection of epinephrine just in case she was stung.

Hopefully something will be done about the decline of our domestic honey bees.....

Hi Jo,

Thanks for telling us about your story with the bee keeper. She was really into it if she built her own hives, boxes, etc. I had a friend who used to have bee hives and when I helped him we had to dress in overalls with pretty thick material. He also wore a head cover to protect himself. He had the smoke going and the whole thing. It was all very interesting. I tasted the fresh honey and it was great! :)

Thanks again Jo!
