Very good points Ruby. When I did direct sales marketing, I would spread my pennies around by spending small amounts with the store owners for weeks and months before I asked them to put out literature for me. That way they felt more invested in me doing something extra for their customers.
It did not matter if I bought a roll of toilet paper or a cup of coffee-I made sure to give first -to get.
Goodwill can't go in the bank but it sure can create the desire in people to spend money with you.
