Hello Luella,
That was a great show although I lost the last about 16 minutes - the site blanked out. Not sure if it was the site or something on my end.

I would say that I can not cut out sugar. In fact people may think they are having a panic attack when they get really low blood sugar. BUT, I only eat natural sugar. I also crave starch sometimes & make a potato. I do understand cutting out processed sugar as it will give you an exstream high & then you drop like a rock. My blood sugar dropping sounds very much like what you have a panic attack. If I have some sugar (natural only) I am over it in about 20 - 30 minutes. I always have a natural snack (that I get from my Wholefoods business) in my purse just in case. I have also been know to grab a juice & drink it in the store. Usually my green color lets the clerk know I am not kidding (about my BS) when I pay for the empty bottle. LOL!

I do not think it sounds like I have agoraphobia but, I do hate going to the store - rude people just p#$* me off.

I am glad that you are handling this with natural therapy rather than taking handfuls of drugs. The med just cover up the symptoms.

Thanks for the great show,
Sheryl Loch ~ allmylovecrafts

Hi Sheryl,

First I will say that from what I have seen of your Wholefoods business it is fantastic and I would encourage everyone to join.

Now.... From what you describe, you do have low blood sugar issues.  Panic attacks are caused by low sugar issues and out of control andrenalin trying to fix the situation.  I have never met anyone that has panic attacks that is not hypoglycemic.  Therefore, any type of sugar should be eliminated from your diet.  Keep in mind that hypoglycemia can lead to diabetes.  Sugar should only be used in an emergency situation to bring you out of a severe low sugar episode.  However, sugar should not be relied on to bring you out of these episodes time after time as it can turn on you severely.  The most important thing to do is to stick to a healthy diet.

Diet is very, very important with regard to low blood sugar and it is very important that you do not miss a meal.  The best thing for you to do is to have several small meals a day, say 5.  You used a very interesting word.... "crave."  When you crave something, whether it be sugar or starches, your body is not balanced and lacking one or more nutritional supplements.  This does not mean that you cannot have sweets or a potato on occasion, but please be aware that craving sugar or starches is a warning sign that something is wrong.

During the last 15 minutes of the show I gave everybody a website from a psychologist friend of mine from Australia.  This site is my bible, so to speak.  When I read it, the first thing that popped into my mind was BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/beating_anxiety.html

Scroll down and you will find a link to a hypoglycemic diet that I strongly urge you to follow.  I guarantee you will feel much better and it will stop those low sugar episodes.

Also, read the parts that you feel pertain to you and you will find excellent advice.  I am about to post a recipe at Luella's Kitchen and at the bottom it will include a link to the forum I moderate at Curezone.  you can click on it and go to the top right where it says "forums" and find the anxiety forum.  There you will find "Jurplesman" and you will be able to ask him any question pertaining to low blood sugar, anxiety, panic, depression, and he will point you in the right direction.

You will find that this diet will bring you to total wellbeing.

Oh, by the way, the show is archived on my page, and you can listen to it in its entirety.

In this Saturday's show I will cover agoraphobia, panic, and depression from a trauma standpoint.  Sometimes we carry remaining calm a bit too far to the point of denying to ourselves the fact that we have emotions.  Emotions are a part of our makeup and it is when we repress the tears and the sadness for whatever reason that it leads to panic, anxiety, and depression.    However, in everything, nutrition is paramount.

I hope I have answered your questions Sheryl.

Hugs,

Luella

Hello again,
I looked at the Hypoglycemic diet. It looks as if I do pretty well at this & did not know.
I do know my magnesium is low.

I eat from the time I get up until I go to bed. I prefer to say I am a grazer.

I do tend to eat fruit & veggies. I thought when you said to cut out all sugar, you meant even things like carrots & apples (that is what I call natural sugar)..... I almost never crave sweets such as candy, chocolate or things like that. I also am not a bread person.

When I do crave a starch it is almost always right before my period. I know that is a hormone imbalance. After I had my 2nd daughter I had extreme hormone imbalance & when ask what did not feel right I told a nurse that I wanted to eat a couch cushion. I thought she would put me in the mental ward but, instead she said it was a hormone imbalance that was causing a starch craving but, since I had cut out starch to lose weight I guess I just did not think about it.

I am off to look at your other forum.

LOL LOL LOL!  Couch cushion.

With regard to sugar, I was referring to processed sugar, candies, sweets, etc., etc.

Raw fruits and vegetables are the best of all.  The most healthy fruit in the world is a fresh pineapple.  It has almost everything you need for health and the most valuable enzymes.  For lunch one day, eat a pineapple.

You are low in magnesium?  This would account for fealings of stress and anxiety.  As a matter of fact, you will find that all who suffer from anxiety are low in magnesium.  Are you on a vitamin mineral regimen?  I also advise that you cover all the basis with the proper supplements.  All I recommend I use personally, as I have found one's health to be the most valuable asset there is.  And a perfect balanced body will give you emotional wellness.

I don't recommend that you get supplements from a supermarket as they are very low quality.  I recommend a health store but only get what you need.  Don't let anyone talk you into buying a whole bunch of stuff that is not necessary.  Remember, they're out to make money too.

If you don't know where to go, or for convenience sake, Utopia Silver are the supplements that I take and they are of the highest quality.

Utopia Silver Supplements

A Women's multivitamin and multimineral supplement - for a base

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) - This is a powerful enzyme that works on a cellular level.  It stabilizes metabolism, is good for the heart and also provides oxygen to the cells.  Take 90 mg a day.  I buy this supplement in 30 mg capsules.  Take one at breakfast, one at lunch, and one at supper.

Brewer's Yeast - as directed on label.  This helps stabilize glucose levels in the blood.

For the magnesium deficiency, eat lots of green leafy vegetables.  If you think you need magnesium supplementation, you need to go to your health care provider.

The hypoglycemic diet on the site I gave you should fix your hormone imbalance right up.

Hugs,

Luella
