Dear Mary,
It is thinking of people of good and sincere appreciation - like you all obviously have - that I have tried this time to gather and share works like these. Correggio has always been among my favourite painters, not only for the extreme bauty and perfection of every one of his many works - most frequently of a religious nature - in which his dominion of the ciaroscuro played a major role, but also for a special quality about them that I cannot describe in words but may, perhaps, be ascribed to the obvious touching love he put into every one of them.
And you are right about Boucher's painting, it is also perfect in beauty and composition, in elegance, delicacy and color. Many things can be said about the frivolous character of almost all of his other works, but this was hopefully atoned by the pious feeling this one imparts to the viewer.
Best Wishes,
Luis Miguel Goitizolo
