I was too old to get caught-up in that time period, that was for the teens & people in their twenties.

Hi Tom, I remember!

I still like bell bottoms, but never plaid again!

Girls would stay home from school if they couldn't get both sides of their hair to curl symetrically with the curling iron!

I DO Love BIG Hair...always!!

But I hope we never have to look at green polyester leisure suits again!

Hi Thomas

Whilst the 70s were very bad times politically here in Ireland, life had to go on.During the 70s, I met my husband, got married, bought our first house, lost my Dad, then had 2 kids.  So they were a roller coaster of emotions but thats life.  I remember most of the fashion you have described, I wore hot-pants, platform shoes and had crazy hairstyles.  My kids laugh at the photos now.  I smile and cry at my memories of the Seventies and still play my old LPs.

I love it Fionnuala! wow what a name huh? and what a time. Sorry to hear about your father, i was about 5 when i first started losing my family, still am, because we have such a big family, family that works at the movie studios here in L.A. family out in Italy, and here in San Diego, seems the funera parlor is my second home sometimes, its a shame but yes life does go on im just thankful or knowing how to get through by the grace of my Rabbi Jesus, thas to someone showing me what i know now. The memorys of the 70s as i said was a coming of age for me so everything was new and fresh, the music, the laws were defently differant and of course the fashion. I was lucky enough to hang with celebritys/musicians at the house when my uncles would have partys, fun times. Thank you again for sharing Fionnuala. God_bless you. Enjoy your day down unda!

Oh no u just reminded me of Aqua Net spray, it came in a sort of a pinkish/purple can and was sticky when you put it on your hair, my older cousins and my mother (if she were going out) 9/10 she did but anyway i would have to sit and wait for them to pop out of the restrooms for seems like hours jus to brush my teeth, funny.
