Sarah,

Bonsoir. My daddy saw the northern light when in the Navy. He said they were breathtaking. I've only seen them on movies and although beautiful on the screen I'll bet they are a million times better when seen in person.

I think that is why they tell us to stop and smell the roses. We get so busy that beauty passes us by. The rose is gone before we can even notice the beautiful scent and form.

Merci for this awesome thread Sarah, you remind us of such beauty the Earth possesses for us to enjoy if we only just LOOK!

Blessings

Valerie Clavin

Bonjour Valerie,

Thanks for your comments.

You are so right.  As I put in one of the posts above, we tend to get rather blazé about the beauty around us.

We have an American gentleman staying with us, in the gite, for a while.  He has just bought a house in Molandier, not far from us.  While he's having some work done on it, he's staying with us.  He bought the house for the views.

We went to see the house the other day and I could see why.  I took some photos but haven't had a chance to put them on my puter yet.

On the journey to his house through the countryside, as a passenger in his car, I was able to appreciate more, Nature's beauty.  When one is the driver one has to concentrate on the road, but as a passenger I could soak it all up.  What a lovely, peaceful Sunday afternoon I enjoyed, soaking up Nature's bounty.

Not fantastic like the Northern Lights, but wonderfully peaceful.

I'm going to make a big effort to stop and smell the roses and watch the butterflies.

Thanks for coming by.

I've got a cloud picture I'm going to pop over to your forum with now.

Hello Marilyn,

Great to see you here and noone is late in this garden.  It's always been here and will always be here for us. (As long as we love and take care of it).

Thank you for the wonderful graphics.  How lovely it is to go from the imaginary artwork to Mother Nature's artwork (for although the last pic looks like man gave a helping hand, man is a part of Mother Nature's creation).

When I was younger and living in England, I would go for walks in the woods. There would be carpets of bluebells and wild flowers. This photo brought the memories back.  Ooh a bit of nostalgia! (I was thin then! ooh).

Well, it was worth waiting for your visit.

BTW, I don't think anyone has ever called me Hon before.  I could get used to it, I think.

I seem to be in a mystical, lavendar-blue mood this evening.

Thank you for coming by.  Do come again.

Sarah

I couldn't resist this when I saw it in Georgios' post in Thomas' forum thread for Stephen H.

I had to put it here:

Il est beau.

Now I must go to bed.

Blessings,
