Wasn't Saturday Yom Kippur? Why isn't that listed on the calender?
DID YOU KNOW? The U.S. Social Security Board reports that 85 out of 100 Americans reaching age 65 don't possess as much as $250. And only 2% are self-sustaining (the rest dependent on family, church, or the government)! Want to know what the "2-percenters" know that you don't? www.sfi4.com/11579740/FREE

Hi Pierre, you certainly placed some thought into your post, and I do appreciate that!

Let me remind you however, that God wishes for us to keep the Sabbath as a memorial of His Creation, and us being the created. God has specifically said that He will bless those who keep His commandments, and that includes worshiping on Sabbath. This world is round, and no matter what time zone you are in, the hours are the same, so long as you observe during those specific hours which are from sunset to sunset. If you are flying, or moving from one time zone to another, then it is difficult, but this too God understands.

-------------------

THE SABBATH IS THE SIGN OF GOD'S CREATIVE AND REDEMPTIVE POWER

Exodus 31:17  Revelation 22:10-14 The Sabbath was to be to men and women the memorial and sign of God's creative work.  As long as God is Creator and man the creature, the Sabbath remains the sign of all that is involved in the relationship of the two, thus bearing a meaning of the deepest significance

Ezekiel 20:12-20  The Sabbath is the sign of God's power to save and to sanctify

Hebrews 4:4,9,10  This is the New Covenant Experience...the essence of our rest and trust in Jesus Christ.  It is the "Born Again" experience

Leviticus 16:31  Colossians 2:14-17  Ephesians 2:15  What a glorious eternal reminder is the true Sabbath of the Creator!

--------------

Thank you for stopping by my friend and God Bless you!

Rebecca, Yom Kippur is a Jewish tradition celebrating the Day of Atonement, and yes, it is observed on Sabbath. Geketa is an expert on this topic. Let me see if I can get her in on this discussion.
