Re: To Know and Do...

Hello James. I am new here and have been looking around. I have spent a while reading through these pages. I think that Terry Gill makes a lot of good points. So do some of the others.

The only thing that cant be stressed enough, is using God in any kind of way.

To be Christian is also about turning the other cheek and forgiving.  And to me this does not only refer to World Wars, but any fights - anywhere.

A true Christian will not be 2 faced, lie, speak ill or badly of you behind your back or to your face.

A true Christian lives for God, and does and says only good things.  (Actions speak louder than words)

True Christians can be spotted very easily.

Just as easily as the "self-proclaimed" not-so-nice supposed "Christians" can be spotted.  (These are the ones that I avoid)

Wow Michael C, you've got a library full of information here. Thank you so much for sharing. I have some very dear friends who are Catholics. Did you know the Catholic Bible is actually the King James Version? There's some history about your church that is very interesting. I cannot go into details right now, but maybe later!! One of the most interesting things I find about Catholicism is, yes, they like to keep their members in the dark. One of the biggest advantages of being a christian is that we have access to study the bible as the Bereans did, to learn the difference between right and wrong.

I look forward to further discussions along this topic!!

Hi Arthur (The Old Coot), I won't ask where that came from, I'm sure there's a story behind it.

When examining Bible origin, many of today's liberal scholars look everywhere but the Bible. However, the Bible tells us that the origin of the Bible is God Himself. In 2 Timothy 3:16, we read that all scripture is inspired by God. The Greek word used for inspiration is theopneustos, which means "God-breathed." In 2 Peter 1:21, we understand that each writer was "carried along" by God. Therefore, God used each of the Bible's 40 authors, including their diverse cultural backgrounds, personalities and positions, to deliver His divine Word to all mankind.
