Hi Jim

Glad to see you in the forums today.  Interesting sentence.

thanks Jim

Pukka is a very pommie word from early last century - round the first world war era.  It was used mainly by the poms when they were in India.  Pukka sahib is a phrase that comes to mind.  Means 'genuine master' or 'proper gentleman'.

Oh and for those that don't understand "Strine' 'pommie' is Strine for Englishman and 'poms' = several English people....

regards,
Judith
