The second one is an instant turn-off, and I'll admit responding to an invitation very similar to that with 'no thank you, it seems that you're looking for a mailing list, not a friend'.
Usually when I invite someone I make reference to where I saw them.
Number 3 is okay for sending to a person new to Adland. The others know to click on your profile to find out about you. The part about sending info is good; you've told them to expect to hear from you. Now just remember to follow up!
Number 4: Why not do your own homework and find out about their business by studying their profile and their site and then going to them with specific questions instead of asking them to tell you about their business? Isn't that why we post the sites and info?
