Yes, there are plenty of scammers and downright malicious people using the internet who will take advantage of you if they can. Somehow they get your email address, usually when you have got excited at their slick Web site and entered your email. Thinking that you've found a goldmine, but unwittingly having just given your email to a spammer! However there also are many honourable and worthwhile business's via Internet. I think you just find one that your interested in and go on from there. I have thought of opening a separate email account for everything I may sign up for. Or one email for social networking, one for free advertising and a main one for family and internet banking.
