Re: Courious day about Doors fame Jim Morrison

Such a waste. I was one of Jim's biggest fans as a youth and still enjoy pulling out the old songs once and again. Too many great singer/songwriters have gone by the way of man-made drugs. It really is a shame.

Man-made drugs, prosessed foods, is there really a difference. Oh yeah, one is illegal and kills quickly, the other is legal and causes conditions that kill slowly.

I am not sure how I got off on this tangent, probably just remembering Jimbo :)

Thanks for bringin' back some great childhood memories with this post.

Hi Thomas,

Thank you so much for this posting. Years ago when I was a young man I was an avid Doors fan. I have read numerous stories about the tragic end of Jim Morrison and all the questions and controversy surrounding the circumstances of his death. We have seen so many  rising and shining stars who's careers have been ended prematurely by drug use. Look at Elvis who was totally against illegal drug use, only to end his life by an overdose of prescription drugs provided by his doctor. Or now in our present day where so many lives and familys are being utterly destroyed be Crystal Meth. Its shocking and so needless.

It is so unfortunate that there are so many who are seeking comfort and solace through drug use rather than finding the only true comforter our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Only HE can bring real joy, comfort, and fulfillment. To any of you who might be reading this post please understand that the only true comfort and happiness will come from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You can have the same comfort and joy which I, Thomas, and many others enjoy everyday by simply accepting Christ as your Savior.

To do this all that is required of you is to pray to God and acknowledge that you are a sinner, that you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, and lastly that you accept God's FREE gift of salvation. What is salvation you ask? Salvation is God's FREE gift to us, his children. Salvation is God's act of saving our souls for all eternity. When you accept JESUS Christ as your savior YOUR NAME is written in the BOOK OF LIFE by an angel, then all the Heavenly Host sing and praise our God  for the saving of another soul. Remember you can never lose your salvation. Christ teaches that "no man can then pluck you from his hand." Not even Satan our eternal enemy, has any power over Jesus Christ or YOU after you accept JESUS CHRIST as your personal savior. It is only through God's Grace that any of us can be saved! It is not of our own works but only through God's Grace that this can occur. It is really that simple, and absolutely FREE to anyone who believes.

Don't think for a minute that you are to soiled or evil to be saved. Remember Paul of the BIBLE, he was once Saul who made a living traveling around the Bible land killing Christians of the early church until one day while walking with his murderers to their next killing ground our Lord exclaimed in a loud voice "It is hard to kick against these pricks. Saul why does thou persecute my believers so." in the next moment our Lord took Saul's sight, but gave him instructions on what he needed to do to have his sight restored. One must remember that Saul was a Jew and believed in GOD, but denied the fact that JESUS CHRIST was indeed the son of GOD and one of three parts of the holy trinity. The Holy trinity is made up of GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, and GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Saul's murderers then led him to the place where there was a man, God had instructed him to contact. Upon arrival God's chosen man was indeed very fearful for his own life because he already knew exactly what Saul and his murdering followers were all about. God then spoke to him and calmed his heart and instructed him as to how to restore Saul's sight. After Saul's sight was restored he then changed his name to Paul, became a true believer, accepted JESUS CHRIST as his personal savior, and went on to become one of JESUS Christ's greatest and most powerful apostles. Paul was saved by the Grace of God and so can you be saved!

An interesting side note...there are consequences for our sin and Paul's consequences was it seems that his sight was from then on not as keen as it once was. Often in the Bible Paul repeatedly asks God to remove this thorn from his flesh, but God chose not to do so as to remind Paul from where he once came, to keep Paul humble, to remind Paul who really is in control, and that GOD is the source of all power. I believe the thorn was diminished sight because he often remarks that he hopes that his followers can read his letters and that he has to write this large for himself to see his own writing.

Please don't let another day go by without enjoying the same happiness, joy, and fulfillment which Thomas and I enjoy everyday. Make our God a part of YOUR LIFE as we have, you won't ever regret your decision to join us and many others who have found the true source of power, joy, happiness, and fulfillment we enjoy.

Thomas I'm a very simple man who does not process the biblical knowledge and theology back ground that you possess. Please feel free to add the correct bible references and corrections you feel are necessary to carry this message to those who are sorely in need of the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST.

Thomas I thank you again for the opportunity you have given me to be  part of your forum, and to add this post. My hope is that many will read this and come to the SAVING knowledge of JESUS CHRIST. Thomas your forum is truly a great praise to our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. Please keep up your great work for you shall truly be blessed for it.

Thomas I pray that GOD will continue to bless you and all your endeavors.

Truly your friend.

Pat Keeley

Pat, wow what a reply, most of what you written is correct but as a Disciple of Christ i chose do what the Apostle Paul,Peter, John the Baptist and my Lord Jesus.  Jesus was given the Spirit in full measure, no limit (John 3:34). There are three measures of the Holy Spirit: 1.) The indwelling of the Holy Spirit Recieved at Baptism (Acts 2:38)  2.) The Baptism with the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 and Acts 10. 1) Promise (not command), Acts 1:4-5. 2) Predicted (prophesied) 3) Came without warning (People were not specifically praying for it.) 4) Languages. 5) Purpose: to usher in the Kingdom with power. B. Account of the baptism with the Holy Spirit 1) To the Jews- in Jerusalem (Acts 2)  2) To the Gentiles- begins with Cornelius (Acts 10) Note: Cornelius and his household were water baptised in v.48, saved at baptism. b) eer explained actions to the Jews ( Acts 11:1-18). c) "At the beginning," (Acts 11:15) C. Does the baptism with the Holy Spirit still exist today? Ephesians 4:4-6: There is one baptism- which one? ( Written about 60-62 A.D.) There are three options: 1) John's baptism- passed when new covenant began (Acs 19:1-5) 2) The baptism with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2 and 10). No longer present as it was a prophecy/promise that has been fulfilled. It was never a general command for all Christians. 3) Baptism with water in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins to recieve th indwelling of the Holy Spirit. a)  Jesus command this baptism (Matthew 28:18-20). b) This baptism is recorded all the way through the book of Acts and the epistles. 1 Peter 3:21 (also written around 62 a.d.) makes a reference to this water baptism of salvation. c) It had to be the one baptism of Ephesians 4:4-6 as it was the only one practiced by 60-62 A.D. when Ephesians was written.  And with that being said you recieve as i have the teachings of these Miraculous Gifts as i can go into further detail if you wish Pat? Hey im an average joe just like anyoe else in here, working trying to make money but i am also a teacher a (priest) if you will and have the authority to baptise to show good Faith just i was taught these things, back from the first century Church where these teachings i mentioned came from. I wish you well and may we continue on this path to freedom, have you met my very good friend as i call him a prayer partner Pierre? he is of a wise soul, gives great insperations too.
