 Walking Garbage CanHi Luella,

I wonder if Paris Hilton ever read about Florence Nightingale??  This is a woman that has been admired by people around the world for her dedication, determination, fortitude, and compassion.  Imagine a person of her status that never had to lift a finger in her life, never had to go into an area where disease was rampant, and never had to do more than make a donation and make the problem go away.  She chose to forgo all that and many times in her career she would enter a hospital ward where all patients had a contagious desease. If ever there was a person that was Selfless it was Florence.  When Shirley read her story she told me that this was a woman who could have invented the word courage and I agreed.  Think of how many students, after reading the story of Florence Nightingale, decided to follow in her footsteps.  This was a woman that was highly respected throughout the world and rightly so.  I began this with {Paris Hilton} as an example because if more people read the story of Florence Nightingale, they might just gain a little insight of what the word courage is all about.  This was a girl that was even respected by her enemies.  I enjoyed the the trip back in time as well because there were many things that I had not known.  The picture that Nick Sims submitted showed the dangerous situations that this woman faced on a daily basis.  I am going to voice your opinion as well Luella and say that Shirley did make an excellent selection on her nomination.

GOD BLESS YOU

Hello Michael!

Shirley did select an awesome woman!

It did take courage to go into places that were infested with contagious diseases.  However, I have the sneaking suspicion that Florence Nightingale never gave it a second thought.  Now, THAT'S LOVE.

Hugs,

Luella
