It is really true, we reap what we sow. We could also add that the parents have the biggest responsibility, even if the society has failed in such a big extent to give guidance to the young.
After having talked to people - for more than 45 years - how practical the advice in the Holy Bible is, I can only agree with you that we see the results today when most people have not listened.
But what we see happening in the world is only fulfilling what we should expect in the time of the end:
2 Timothy 3:1-5
"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away." (New World Translation)
As we all need comfort and encouragement, we could read what will happen after this time of end:
Psalms 37:10,11
"And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;
And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
Sending lots of love to all
