When I was a young girl, I was a "Candy Striper" (not stripper:).
I spent one summer at the veterans hospital taking care of the soldiers. Although, I was too young to get as much out of the experience as I should have, I have locked in my memory the dignity and honor of those men of all ages who had simply done their duty and did not complain about their losses.
As service mothers, we pray for the best while there is a place in our hearts that are prepared for the worse. To welcome our children back home no matter what condition their bodies come back.
Thank you to all for your sacrifies, especially the young wives and mothers, there is no way to know what you are signing on for when you find your true love and he/she goes off to fight a war!
Be strong, be true and keep your soldiers in prayer.
