Re: An Ugly Secret. Toxic Mold

Hi Donna

I would guess that your son's symptoms are related to the mold. Pressure washing and painting does not kill mold. It only hides it. There is another aspect of mold poisoning that I have just recently become aware of. As the mold dries out, it turns into microscopic particles and is carried on even the slightest of air currents. the most likely place for it to land is somewhere damp where it can stick and begin to regenerate. the particles that do not find moisture begin ti die but it is a very slow process. As the mold is deteriorating it gives off a toxic vapor like substance . This vapor contains mycotoxins aND THESE ARE CAPABLE OF CAUSING A HOST OF DIFFERENT PROBLEMS. Breathing difficulty, chest and heart pain, hearing loss and many different types of neurological problems. Because of the ability for the mold to survive so long in different environments, it is necessary to make sure that you don't carry any of the spores with you into your next home. this is the mistake I  made because I didn't realize the potential for problems. I have been told by several people now that i need to get rid of everything that i brought with me from the other house. Furniture and bedding is especially vulnerable. Clothing, paper products such as pictures and documents. Just about anything that doesn't have a very smooth , non porous surface is capable of carrying these mold spores and infecting your new home.

My friend Iris, whom I have introduced in a few of my forums, can tell you more about how all of this works. Her and her husband have lived through a terrible ordeal over toxic mold and they have had to give up nearly everything they owned in order to escape the mold.

I am getting some information about specialized testing for the presence of these mycotoxins and I will share this with you all as soon as I get it. In the mean time, please do not under estimate to danger of mold. If you have mold in your home, get it tested and while you are waiting for the test results, go somewhere safe and stay there until you know your home is safe.

Hello Friends

It appears that there are two standards when it comes to toxic mold. Many of our political leaders recognize mold in their homes as being a toxic threat requiring thousands of taxpayer dollars to remediate. However, if that same mold is in the home of Average Joe, it is merely an annoyance but completely harmless.

Stand up and firhgt for your rights. If you have been injured by tixic mold, stay tuned to this site because we are getting ready to wage a major battle against those who deny our claims and our injuries.

Toxic Mold. When it Happens to You.

The State of Oregon has taken a huge step in preventing toxic mold in new home construction with House Bill 2112-B by banning the use of synthetic stucco. Synthetic stucco has been the subject of a number of investigations including one by NBC Dateline. Homeowners have claimed the product causes water retention within the walls leading to wood rot which in turn leads to mold contamination.
Salem Republican Jackie Winters rose to speak on the Senate floor recently to propose banning the use of synthetic stucco on Oregon homes.

Winters said she was acting on behalf of Salem constituents plagued by a mold outbreak, which they blamed on water leakage caused by defective stucco.

An 11-year-old girl developed a brain tumor traced to the mold. The girl's mother experienced bouts of pneumonia and bronchitis. Her father suffered gastrointestinal illness and lost 30 pounds.

"They had to redo their house, and they had a dog that died," Winters said. "This product should not be allowed in Oregon."
Pets dying, chronic illness, and weight lost is very typical for the average family suffering from a mold contaminated home. What is not typical is who this happened to:
Then she unleashed a bombshell.

The girl is Winters' granddaughter Whitney McClain, daughter of the senator's son Bill McClain and his wife, Pam.

As Winters spoke, Whitney was at Doernbecher Children's Hospital getting an MRI, which she must undergo every three months after enduring two brain surgeries.

"They're my constituents as well as my family," Winters said, "and we didn't want to see anyone else go through what they went through."
It is unfortunate that before something is done to prevent mold contamination in new home construction, an elected official's family has to be harmed. Of course here in Texas that doesn't happen.

Hello Everybody

I apologize for not being as active on this forum as I would like to be. I assure that it is not because I don't take this toxic mold thing serious. I most certainly do. Toxic mold has all but destroyed my life and I am finding more and more people who either have or still are going through the same thing. Friends, I am convinced that there are many of you right here in Adland that are going through Dr. after Dr. and treatment after treatment and are not getting any better. Fibromyalgia, MS, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain syndrome and a host of other illnesses and disorders. It may very well be that you have been exposed to toxic mold.

regardless of the outcome of my illnesses, I am dedicATED TO HELPING OTHERS UNDERSTAND MORE ABOUT TOXIC MOLD. i AM DETERMINED TO HELP OTHERS AVOID GETTING AS ILL AS i HAVE.

Toxic mold is real. The sicknesses caused from it are real. It is time that WE STAND TOGETHER AND STOP THIS TRAVESTY FROM DESTROYING MORE LIVES.

The following link will take you to a news cast where my good friend Iris and her husband T. Lee tell about their battles with toxic mold and a society that isn't being told the truth about it.

Greetings All

I have been away for a while but, I'm back now. I have been working on helping some friends develope a plan for our toxic mold advocacy group. We have a conference call tomorrow , Tue, Aug 26  2008.

If you are interested in learning more about toxic mold illnesses or are interested in joining our advocacy group, please join us on the call. Here is the information.

Hello All,

We have accomplished so much in the last 2 months because of your support! We have 15 Proclamation/State Reps and 1 International Rep. The purpose of this conference call is to get an update about where you are in the proclamation process.  I would suggest that everyone follows up with the Governor's office and/or Senator's office prior to the conference call. Please invite any potential reps to this meeting.   Has everyone read the Proclamation Process Guide? We will go through it at the conference call.

Greetings All

It appears that this topic is losing some of the interest that it generated earlier on. That's OK though. Even if only one person benefits from this information I will continue to make posts here. It is well worth the effort.
My Friend Iris, whom I have mentioned earlier on this thread, has made the news again. Her story is a feature article in the Augusta Metro Spirit news paper. By coincidence, another feature article in the same edition is about another mold related problem. Mold in the hospital setting and the measures taken to either ignore or conceal the problem have led to a major investigation and potential for law suites. This is a perfect example of how the truth about mold is being handled by corporate America. Rest assured. Where there is liability, there is deciept. Where their is deciept, there are people getting sick,,,,,needlessly.

Here are the links to the articles for anyone interested in reading them.
