That is an awesome post Nick!
I am the queen of clutter so it is obvious that cleaning is not top priority on my list.
Thank you for letting me know that there are more important things.
Life IS too short and I don't believe I am here to be everyone else's maid!!
Especially my children's!! Right now the little one is the worst for mess and I do have to help him a bit but 16 & 17 year old's that tell me they clean up after themselves and leave the evidence all over the floor of my office....make me nuts!!!!
Then have the nerve to call me a slob because 17 years of cleaning up after them quite naturally makes me tired and lazy! LOL
I'm not filthy, I'm just not worried about making my house look like a museum! I have MANY neat-freak, clutter free friends and my opinion is a home like their's often makes me feel uncomfortable because you're afraid to touch anything or put your feet up and relax. NOT a home...in my humble opinion.
My best friend never seems to sit and relax...she follows around after her kids all day cleaning up their toast crumbs behind them...as far as I can see she thinks she's in control and doesn't understand that her cleaning is obsessive and controls her!!
Give me dust anyday thanks!! At least it is still my choice whether I clean it up or not! LOL
Although I must admit the older I get and the more in control my health issues get the less I enjoy the clutter and chaos....I am a hoarder but, I am getting MUCH better and I do want to give stuff up!! It's just hard to let go of things sometimes.
Sorry for being so serious. This subject just hits close to the heart. It is nice to know other people think it is ok that dusting is not the first priority all the time.
Thanks!
