Let’s Clean House (Nick)

Let’s Clean House!

     Dusting

"A house becomes a home when you can write
"I love you" on the furniture." AMEN !!

And my house is sure a home!!

I can't tell you how many countless hours
that I have spent CLEANING!

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend
making sure things were just perfect --
"in case someone came over."
Then I realized one day that no-one came over;
they were all out living life and having fun!

Now, when people visit, I find no need to
explain the "condition" of my home.
They are more interested in hearing about
the things I've been doing while I was
away living life and having fun.
If you haven't figured this out yet,
please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must,

but wouldn't it be better to
paint a picture or write a letter,
or do some Bible study,
spend time with a friend
bake a cake or

plant a seed, go play golf,
ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
with rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
music to hear, songs to sing and books to read,
friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out

there with the sun in your eyes,
the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow,
a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go -- and go you must --
you, yourself will make more dust!

Share this with all the wonderful people in your life!
I JUST DID.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi Nick,Great advice.

We've noticed that after a while the dust doesnt get any thicker.

If you open doors and dash around in  a busy way it keeps on circulating plus if you drop your peanut butter sandwich on the carpet the dust protects the carpet (adds texture to the sandwich as well).

Carpets probably last longer if your feet aren't in direct contact.

Pass these household tips around your internet friends as they might find that they have more time to go online.

Roger  (Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaachew) must be the dust

Hi Nick,

If having a dirty house bothers you  too much, leave the vacuum cleaner out so that any visitors will think you were in the process of cleaning.

Also I have heard that one should display a nice big stack of get well cards in view so that the visitor believes that housecleaning chores has not been ignored. The excuse is that you have obviously been ill.

Anyway all those cleaning supplies just stink up the house and we have been warned unhealthy elements of our house environment.  So if my house is dirty it is because I don't want to pollute the air.

Hi Nick, Where do you get these gems? :-) This is wonderful! Everyone needs to get this advice. I have a lot of friends who have nicer houses than we do, drive newer, nicer cars, have more money in the bank, and go on fancier, more expensive vacations than we do. But we've spent our money on our kids, taking them camping and traveling all over, put them all (four) through dance and musical theater, and have also home-schooled all of them. In between, we've taken them to visit friends (theirs and ours) and actually have slept 8 hours a day (usually), too. Who has time for dusting?! lol! God bless, Dave

Nick,

My mother used to say that a house is not a home unless it is filled with love and lived in, and if it is lived in it will have some clutter.
