Dear Neil,
Thank you for not only visiting, but sharing Nelson Mandela's quote and so much of yourself. Your poem is beautiful.
It took me a long time to learn true love is unconditional. In both the giving and receiving of it. I often felt I was unworthy of receiving love and at the same time being afraid of losing those I did love. With those feelings so predominant in my life, I tended to keep people at arms length.
Through counseling I learned that all people including myself are "special" and that's when I began writing my "Specialisms."
I had learned to be more accepting of myself, but until coming here to ALP other than openly expressing my love for my husband, I still kept those "love" feelings to myself.
In the few short months since being here at ALP, there has been such an outpouring of love towards me ... oh boy ... my Pond of Happiness is overflowing ... that it just seems natural to reach out and LOVE EVERYBODY!
Without loving oneself a person cannot be truly successful. Success doesn't necessarily mean monetary gains. We can have all the money in the world and still not be successful at LIFE. In the end its the SUCCESS AT LIFE that truly matters.
Be SUCCESSFUL AT LIFE and you will succeed at all else ... Your journey towards your Destiny begins from the time you are born. Success is about relationships and values not about achievements. There are many successful people who die poor, but the way they are eulogized stands out among the greatest of men/women.
Whatever else our Destiny has in store for us to have made a difference and to die happy is the greatest reward.
Sincerely,
Terry
PS Joe & Judy ... will catch up with you ... need to be away this afternoon!
