I got it from both directions. I moved up north to Michigan with my folks when I was about 3 and they laughed at me and my mom and said we were so cute, and acted like we had absolutely no sense just because we sounded countrified.
Then after I got used to the Detroit accent, I moved back to Kentucky and they acted like I was a foreigner.
Now I live in Wichita. Went through the whole thing all over again, and now I don't have much of an accent at all.
And those people from Arkansas...well let me tell ya, it's all true what they say about them. I met a lot of people with 6 toes on one foot and 6 fingers on one hand. It might not be that way so much in this day and age, but there was a lot of it going on back a few years. Now I know that's not the whole state, but didn't you ever wonder about how much Clinton and his wife looked alike?
Oops..did I say that?
Shut my mouth!
