Alright you guys, we don't all talk like that REALLY!

I'm from western kentucky, and I've been to eastern kentucky and they don't talk that way either. There are a few who never went to school or had to share a pair of shoes between twins and stuff. But for the most part, Kentuckians are very well educated and have some really good colleges and universities to attend.

Now I could go on to say that at least I don't PWOK MY CAH IN GARODGE. And we WEAR SHOES even when we don't have to.

I am jest so proud to be here.. I see that dem dang yankees from Wes Viginny and New York dun beat me in to dis  here forum.. I have lived much of my life in Kentucky and I am here to tell you in my neck of the woods they do talk jest like that ..

I never wear shoes unless it is winter and even than I bulk.. My feet need to breathe.  Ya'll can find me anytime setting bare foot at my desk jest about anytime  lol

There is a lot more funny sayin's here in Kentucky "goin" as in are you goin to the store today? don't furget over thar, under thar and not thar, and right cheer as it it is right cheer on the table.

I really think I should write a hillbilly dictionary so ya'll folks could undertan us folks ..

But I was a little bit of a square peg in
a round hole.
They thought I was wierd because I didn't
talk like they did. I was too "uppity".

Now when I make a phone call home, they
really do sound wierd. I've gotten used to hearing
people talk with a middle american accent here in
Kansas.

You should have heard me when I first got here though.
To them I probably sounded like a hick.

Isn't it funny how we tend to pick up the same
accents of the people around us after a while?
