Introduction from Scams Watchdog
4/2/2007 7:47:45 PM
Hello Everyone, I am the webmaster of Scams Watchdog located at... http://scamswatchdog.bravehost.com/ I am going to be working a lot on the site over the next week. So I wanted to get an active forum going on recent scams, bad companies, or just companies that seem to lie or trick people into going to their sites. I'll check out any places that you let me know about, but keep in mind that I am looking for bad scam type companies here so please don't advertise your company or business. :> Thanks and let's make this a great active forum. Any info. you send me way will be greatly appreciated. As a little bonus here, if you provide me with information I am setting up a website directory from my site. I'll be happy to put your site their as a good site to visit. Thanks all. Nigel Webmaster: http://civspacead.tripod.com/ and http://scamswatchdog.bravehost.com/

Hello Nigel,

I was looking at a site to work at email processing.  The site accepts Paypal and AlertPay for payment.  The only cost is $11.

Here is the site address: http://www.Webworkfromhome.com

Do you know anything about this site?  Have any prespectives on it?

Best Regards,

roadcat

Hi Roadcat,

Most of these type from home companies are not to be trusted.  Especially the ones that ask for money up front.  The email processing are a similar beast.  I'll take a look at the site as well as do some further research on it and post a response as soon as possible.
If you do sign up for it and payout the $11.00 up front, let me know.  I would definately like to keep track of it.  Of course my immediate thought is to say what is generally a common mind set for internet sites.  If they are asking for money up front there is a good chance it isn't legitimate, or you'll find yourself working extremely hard for very little.
I'll take a look at it further and get back to you.  Thank you Roadcat.

Hello again Roadcat,

Just to let you know I just glanced over their site and had 3 red flags jump out at me.  1. They use subliminal suggestions in at least 2 places that I noticed.  2. they go out of there way to use reverse psychology in regard to what we discuss as being a red light for scams. 3. They state it will cost you nothing to get started, yet it will cost you $11.00 to start.
I'll research some more from here.

Thank You Nigel,

I appreciate you taking time to look at the site.  I blew it off.

I used to have a site you could go to and check sites to see if they were scams.  I lost the address of the site after a computer crash. Do you know what the address of the site is?  You could put in the address of a site and it would automatically give you the results.

Best Regards,
