Yes Dad was the best. He always had stories of his life to shear. He was one of the first Commandos in the second world war and served beside David Niven the actor.
Even Met Winston Churchill at Waterloo station just before the D-Day landings, At the time he did not recognize him, and came out with some choice words of complaint that they were all there at the ungodly hour in the morning and what he wouldn't say to the Person that put them there. !! LOL
In later life he was an Bus Driver, Coach Driver, and an Ambulance driver / Foreman for the local welfare services, Driving The disabled and aged to their day centers etc. and in charge of the other drivers 60 in all including Meals on wheels
for the local community.
