Personally i like thin ice, it goes down much nicer than a big chunk that you cant swollow. Again some postings that are specific in what they are, not all of us have the experiance to post to that specific topic, so there for thers not a lot of postings to be made. Maybe in time, when the (newbies) become (oldbies) like us. Then there wont be anyone saying the wrong thing on a topic without having a whole lot of knowledge that they dont understand come down on them. You got take things with a grain of salt. Cant be so hard on yourselves, thats when you start to make mistakes.

My thinking is the same, they either don't post to what the subject is about, or they ridicule someway to the forrum, or they or either too busy.

I've tried the forums, and I personally don't like being ridiculed. There is nothing wrong with giving advice, but to just plainly say thanks but no thanks. Just don't say nothing at all

 

we are all here for a reason, and if it don't fit some of these people's needs, they either have very sarcastice remarks, or they just don't comment. I personally would rather not hear if that's all they got.

Wish I had time today to read all the postings here. That can be an issue.

The very active members here are exactly the same as elsewhere.

These folks spend MANY hours online whereas most folks have a limit each day because of JOB. If somebody really wishes to follow somebody dynamic it meansreading something like 6 to twelve separate threads or forums a day. By time tghis is done there is little time left for other forums.

I have a computer widow who would prefer to throw the computer out of the window, so, I type early and very late so am forced to minimum.

Just two possible answers.

I know that there is some prestige for some in posting numbers acheived but I wish some of the more active members would combine a few of their forums as even they sometimes struggle to answer folk.

I often post in a forum and do not hit the Email me when somebody replies button.
This is not always the case, however I do Hit reply quite often too, if I am interested in nthe subject. Adland is not the only place on the internet that has forums, that I belong to either, I have to say. That is another reason as to be honest, there is only so much time in a day.

interesting topic, I think the amount of traffic (and posts) to your forum is based on how many friends you have, how active they in turn are....and how you promote your forum in ALP (and outside APL, to grow the community!)
