Re: Opinions Needed. Why are people reluctant to post on Adlandpro forums
3/14/2007 7:45:20 PM

Hi Bill,

I am partly to blame for this, see my forum dated 13/10/2006 http://community.adlandpro.com/forums/thread/487362.aspx

I got for and against as well as some complaints about the forum name, I didn't notice any reductions in forum posts after this date!

I do agree though that forum posts have dropped sharply since "The Committee" was formed as a lot of members are now worried that they may upset someone!

So what, publish and be damned.

I have had numerous run ins with some members, the last one was a few days ago but I am not mentioning any names or which forum it was in.  I think I will start a brand new forum for members called "For whimps only" so all the scaredy cats who are to frightened to post can post there, I haven't read all the posts in this forum but I have noticed someone saying they couldn't follow the forum or didn't know how too!

Who are these people? can't they read or follow simple online instructions.

So the images below are for their benefit, thanks for bringing up this subject.

Best Wishes

John.

Hello John

With regard to the committee, the people who have been even affected at all are very few. You are the first person to say anything to me  about people being afraid to post now because of the committee. Actually, the comments that I have received say just the opposite.

As far as forum content goes, I too find it a bit difficult to follow some of them. Yours is a perfect example. It started out as Forums, bloody forums and now I see that it has changed to forum sluts. I would imagin that just the title " Forum Sluts " would limit your draw to that forum. I am pretty sure that a few ladies around Adlandpro would be reluctant to post there.

As far as your post here I see that you have chosen to only point out negative things about Adlandpro. You have referred to sluts, whimps, being damned by the committee, people who are not intelligent enough to follow a paragraph and people who are overly anxious about getting the exposure in a business setting.

You mentioned that you have had numerous run ins with some people. Here, I would take notice of two key words. I and people. I, meaning you , and this is a singular word. People is plural. It has been my experience that when more than one person is complaining about a single person, there is usually a sound reason for this.

Now, with regard to those who just can't follow simple instructions. I hold no grudge against these poor souls. Rather than criticize them for their lack of intelligence, I think it would be better to just be thankful that you are smarter than they are. Who knows, some of them may even look up to you one day for being willing to share your knowledge with them. Then of course, there are those who are not really familiar with the english language and might get a bit confused at times. I prefer to explain things a little more in detail to these people rather than shrug them off.

So John. There you have it. My opinion. Just stick with the universal words like slut and whimp and I don't see any problem with you getting lots of posts on your forums. Everybody seems to understand words like that.
