Hello Marilyn,

I apologize for my post, it did sound like I was attacking you and I did not intend to do that.  I hope you can accept my apology.  And I will try harder to comply in the future.

Hi Marilyn,

That was a great article about understanding the actions of others.  Did you ever watch another person and ask yourself why did he/she do or say that?  When someone in not in the present moment they tend to be somewhere in their past.  Which they react to in their present moment.  A lot of times they themselves don't even remember what they did or said.  Expecially if two people are fighting with each other.  They are just reacting to something that was said or they heard in the past.  You have to give forgiveness to that person and go on.  Always live in peace with each other, it's good for the soul!

Hello Marilyn,

I just received this poem and I believe that it fits with your forum.

Note----AUTHOR UNKNOWN

Garden of Friendship

In the garden of friendship,
Seeds of kindness sow.

Patience, faith and loyalty,
In abundance grow.

Plant many flowers of hope,
Comfort, joy and cheer.

Roses of remembrance grow,
For friends far and near.

Sow not doubt or resentment,
Discard harmful seeds,

Lest your gardens beauty be,
Marred by ugly weeds.

Often flowers of real worth,
Given tender care,

For a lifetime blossom in
Friendships garden fair.

Hello Marilyn,

I have monitored but had no time until now to contribute to this forum.

That was a great posting and some really interesting and understanding replies.

Not wishing to repeat myself but finding it impossible if I am to make my point.

I have stated here before that I am one of the luckiest people on this planet.

To forgive is as easy as falling off a log for me.

That doesn't mean to say that I understand the reason or motive of somebody's actions when they act cruel or act in an evil way, just that the things I have done in my life that I'm not proud of were done, for, what to me was a perfectly reasonable or understandable reason. Only afterwards do I start to repent or question my decisions.

There are very few really evil people on this planet and even those who are have usually a good if not acceptable reason. This doesnt mean that we have to accept this or that behaviour but, that we owe it to them and ourselves to try and understand.

Civilised society can only build upon experience, fairness and justice, but at the end of all of this we just need to understand those that dont fit the mould.

My statement here would be:

'To understand the action of others may be difficult, but, we owe it to them if, we in turn, seek to be understood.'

We are all unique human beings and we should aim to be the best we can be, but, when we fall short of our own standards we should be prepared to forgive.

Forgive yourself and allow yourself to understand others.

Roger
