Hello Pauline,

Jesus is the Creator of all things!

In the Gospel of John we are told, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1)". Jesus co-existed with the Father. "All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made (John 1:3)". Again I say, Jesus is the Creator! "He was in the world and the world was made by him and the world knew him not (John 1:10)". "But as many as received him. to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them who believed on his name (John 1:12)". This is the glorious promise of becoming a part of the family of God.

At the wedding feast in Cana, Mary, the host mother of Jesus, told him that they were out of wine. His reply to her caused a friend of mine to comment that this seemed to be a rude comment for him to make to his mother. Mary knew exactly who she was petitioning. Jesus' reply to her was the Creator talking to his creation. "Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour has not yet come (John 2:4)".

Why do I refer to Mary as Jesus' host mother? In 1st Corinthians 15:47 we are told that the first Adam was created from the dust of the earth, the second Adam (Jesus) was from heaven. I can envision God creating an embryo within which the Spirit of God (Jesus) was placed. This embryo was then placed within the womb of a willing virgin (Mary). There is nothing far fetched about this idea.  Medical doctors place embryos within the wombs of host mothers every day. The difference is that this embryo was a seperate creation and contained none of the DNA of Adam. Its blood was pure and free of the inherited sin of Adam's line.

The Child was then adopted by Joseph. An adopted child receives all the rights of inheritance. That is why the genealogies in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke trace the linage from Adam to Joseph. These genealogies establish that Joseph was from the line of David. Jesus as an adopted son was thus heir to the Kingdom of David. The concept of adoption is very important to us. We have been adopted into the family of God and have become joint heirs with Christ our Creator, Our Savior, our Brother, and our Friend.

I hope that this will bless others as the realization of these concepts blessed me.

Hello Pauline!  :-)

Fantastic forum my friend!

You really know the Scriptures and you know how to bring them across in an important message. What does Jesus mean to me? Well, He's someone that's always around to pick me up when I fall. He's always around to comfort me when I need it most. He's my God and my best friend. This reminds me of a song I wrote a long time ago when I was at work and I was flying high from a church service:

I love Jesus in the morning

and I love Jesus at noon

Oh, I love Jesus in the evening

and I love Jesus when I'm dreaming.

Oh, I love Jesus, I love Jesus, I love Jesus all the time!

When I wake up in the morning there He is

yes He is, yes He is, yes He is

And when noon comes around He can still be found

yes He can, yes He can, Yes He can

When evening gets here He is still very near

yes He is, yes He is, yes He is

And when I lay down to sleep

I pray the Lord my soul to keep

yes I do, yes I do, yes I do

Cause I love Jesus, I love Jesus, I love Jesus all time

It sounds like a children's song but that's what I was feeling like when I wrote it... just one of His son's.

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
