Great topic Brian, and wonderful response Andrew!

I am very interested in how these Internet trends will impact what I do online.

I don't have much to contribute right now, but I am reading the posts.

Rest assured that if the government can get its grredy hands on the internet, it will tax it! They just haven't figured out quite how yet. There is too much public sentiment against a move like that for the most part, but beware the day will come.

As far as what the future may bring, it would behove one to consider today and everyday as the future. Yes things change over periods of time, but the internet goes through massive changes daily.

Good luck to you and your ventures.

God Bless

Hey Brian,

Great topic for a forum. I read all of the posts so far, and they are all right on. Unfortunatley it is not a matter of how but, when the taxes will be charged to online businesses. Especially with the political climate warming up to the 2008 election. It is just a fact that politicians will tax, period.

Change in online business will be daily, no doubt about that. Entertainment will be big along with other services. Advertising will never cease to be a bread winner.

I have shifted my primary business to worldwide travel, which is in hypergowth on the net now, and will continue to be in the future. The market is huge. Travel is a service and a universal service to all. Everybody travels, and it being a service rather than a product is attractive to me as a business owner.

For those whom have substantial online businesses, probably best to incorporate to get protected from taxation. As you put it, most of us are paying taxes 2 and 3 times.

Time for some logic and facts. 1. Life is NOT fair! Never has been. is not now and most probably never will be. 2. Many other countries have higher tax rates than the U.S. does. 3. People want the government to do this and do that and then bitch about taxes. 4. Since it seems people either do not know it OR they DENY the facts of it, bin laden and others of his ilk published their long range plans to take over the whole damn world and put in a Taliban form of rule. They have at least two countries with MANY millions of people in their armed forces and their reserves who agree with bin ladens plans. AND there are over 100 million Moslems who have said they will take up arms to accomplish bin ladens plans. (100,000,000 is more than 5 times the number in the US armed forces during WWII.) And I am supposted to worry about the net being taxed? Neil

Hi Brian,

I have come here three times and not posted. There seems to be a small problem of 12 billion dollars misplaced in Iraq. The money we sent was measured in tons. I don't want to even get into the rest of the mess.

I would not have a problem at all paying taxes to support this country if their was some control and accountability involved.

I am just beside myself when it comes to this subject, if I truly got into the meat of my feelings and beliefs my finger would bleed from banging these keys.

My goals are to make more money so it doesn't matter by helping to Empowering the Impoverished working Class that is my drive!!!
