Re: Goji Juice Slapped by CBC

Hi Dave!  :-)

This is some interesting news about Goji!  Ya know.......I have tried several of these "jungle juices" on the market today.  Except I'll have to admit I have not tried Xango.  I was interested @ one point - but lost interest when I discovered something about the company.

Anyhow.......and I am not a marketing rep with this company - so I'm not tooting my horn here.  But I have found one juice that has performed for me and it has the reasearch to back up it's claims.

Limu Plus from VitaMark Intl.

2 oz'x in the A.M. - and then 2 oz'z B$ bed......and all I can say is WOW!  Great stuff!

  • I slept better (my body even required LESS sleep & I felt even better!)
  • I kicked my 2 pot/day coffee habit!  COLD TURKEY - WITH NO WITHDRAWL symptoms!
  • I was finally able to quit smoking (even though I only smoked maybe 1 pack a month)
  • My cholesterol went down to healthy levels!

In short?  This stuff rocks! :-)

~ Drummerboy Keep on thinking positive…..thank God for everything that’s good in your life……..and make it a great week!

Hi, Roger, Claims made in the USA and some here, in Spain, do not require proof when it comes to the benefits of food suppliments. All I know is that MLM products are hugely expensive because of the numerous levels of commissions each unit is subject to. It seems clear to me that, if any of the claims made by MLM for their juices was proven, the producers could make much more profit and obtain greater market penetration by using traditional outlets. As for your fuel conditioning pill, how does it tell the carburettor or fuel injectors to deliver less fuel to the cylinders? It does not matter how clean the fuel might burn, the cylinders will be provided with a measured dose of fuel with each stroke until mechanical adjustments are made. I drive a Reault Express van and get better than 60mpg with my usual driving style but, if I am in a hurry and have to be a bit harder on the accelerator, this can fall to 40mpg. Simply by changing my driving style I can get 50% increase in mileage. The Old Coot

Hi John, I think there is ample evidence that good nutritional supplements can be very beneficial to many people. Simply ingesting over-the-counter generic vitamin and mineral caplets can be an even bigger waste of money than buying over-priced juice from an MLM company, as they are often in a form that is virtually unusable by our bodies and simply create expensive waste... However, it pays to do some digging and to keep up with current research before buying any supplements. Many of the claims are unsubstantiated, poorly researched, if at all, and often untried on humans. (It's one thing to see results in a petri dish - quite another to see actual results on humans.) That said, I must agree that a lot of people do, indeed, get caught up in the hype and can't see the truth for the dollar signs. God bless, Dave

Hi Brian, Thank you for the information on Limu Plus. I have done some digging into the major ingredients touted by Vitamark, and am having difficulty finding any scientific studies related to their activity in the human body. It definitely shows great promise, but it seems that no one has yet run clinical tests. Perhaps you could share some links that would shed some light on this area. It is a most interesting product. What I have found so far suggests that people need to be quite careful. Hemophiliacs, for example, could potentially experience serious complications. As always, a health professional should be consulted before using this product. Here is an interesting link to some of the scientific studies: http://www.jbc.org/cgi/content/abstract/264/6/3618 There is also quite a bit of information available on goji. Research shows a lot of potential benefits from the plant, but one must be careful to recognize that different parts and preparations of the plant produce different results, and that some of the claims associated with the juice really only apply to the leaves or whole berries. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=search&DB=pubmed God bless, Dave

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your persistence and candor. That is the sign of a true professional.  I don't have much time at the moment, but I did want to share that there is a company (and perhaps more than one) that does have the science to back up the claims.

I have been a consumer/rep with 4Life Research for over 5 years now.
The flagship product - Transfer Factor - An immune system educater, has been researched for over 40 years, since the advent of antiboitics.

In a nutshell the studies show it raises natural killer cell activity by 103 - 437 % depending on the formula used. This out does IP6 a well known chemotherapy drug.  The question of the day is : What are you without an immune system?
Answer: DEAD.

It also has the ability to suppress the immune system as would be the most effective way to treat auto-immune disorders, such as Fibromyalgia, alergies, asthma and the like.

It is also listed in the PDR. The website shows the 2005 version. But it is my understanding that it is in 06 and 07 as well. It is recommended to Dr. and hospitals in Russia by the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, kind of like our equivalent of the FDA, is what I understand.

It comes in individual supplements, or in a combination of products, including a "jungle juice" blend of Acai, pomegrante, elderberry, blueberry, grape, and lactoferin.

Here is the website information if and when you feel if would behoove to do your research.
