Hello Geketa,
Thank you very much for your comments my friend! I agree with most of what you say as well, but I have to say something else about affirmations.
Positive affirmations are to be used to help people with low self-esteem etc, to retrain their minds to think differently than the way they have been. With that said, these people are not going to believe these statements at first, but when they work with a therapist or a counselor, and learn to turn all of their negative thoughts into positive ones, eventually they will believe. It is not something that is done over night, and it has to be an ongoing practice. It is also not something that someone can just say once a day and be done with it! However, it is a good form of self-help along with other things, such as biofeedback, yoga, or some other form of relaxation, that work hand-in-hand together to re-train a mind to think positive.
I agree with you about success though!! Success is many things to many people....someone does not need to have a billion dollars to be successful. It is not measured by how much money one makes. Success could be for someone that has agoraphobia, the ability to take a couple steps outside their home to check the mail....that's a huge success!
So, very well said my friend...success is different for everyone indeed!
God Bless You,
Marilyn
