Re: Link Says [Send Me A Message] NOT [Send Me An AD] ...

hi Ken

Just to follow up on my last post and let people see what we are up against Here is the exchange between the previously referred to member and myself. I wont publish the name  they know full well who they are.

On 5/14/2007

I received an Ad through [Send me a message] profile link from member that has been here almost a year.

I sent this reply

Date: 5/14/2007

please read this forum

http://community.adlandpro.com/forums/thread/564400.aspx

I received this back

Date: 5/14/2007

So Bill.... you dont like to get information?

And of course its spam for a person like you yes???

So tell me, what is your mission?

***************

My reply back

Date: 5/14/2007

One of my missions here in Adland is to have people follow the rules.

Many of us are tired of rule breakers spamverising when there are plenty of correct methods to advertise to people here in Adland.

Here is another thread  from another Highly respected member I suggest you also read instead of acting like an arrogant ass

http://community.adlandpro.com/forums/670413/ShowThread.aspx

As you have been in Adland almost a year you should be fully conversant with the rules by now. How can we expect new members to comply when we have people like you setting a bad example.

***********************

The  reply I found in my messages today (I have not censored it just to show what this persons attitude is )

Date: 5/15/2007

for me what you are telling, is just bullshit,i hope you having fun and make money.

but grove up

***************************

Now my question is, as I stated to this person in my second reply to Him, how can we honestly expect new people to follow forum rules and etiquette when we have people like this who have been here a while acting like this.

This member has definitely got to be one of the  "Rules apply to everyone but me" brigade.

OK Kenneth I found it,

Now I don't mean to be rude or condescending in any way but is not posting all of your URL's at the end of your post still the same as sending your ads? Enlighten me if I am wrong but if you noticed at the end of my post that I have not signed off by leaving my URL or any link to my businesses or any such inadvertent advertisement of any kind, Why? because no matter how you post it an ad is an ad is an ad, weather it is in a graphic layout or in plain text form it's still an ad and is still spamming. This is a forum for discussing things that have to do with the topic at hand not another place to just throw your ads around like you may throw your clothes in the corner for someone else to have to pick them up for you, even after I posted my first time in here I noticed all the spam, and it hasn't stopped. I wonder what goes through peoples minds sometimes when they do exactly the opposite of what the signage says to do, if the sign says turn left, do you stop, go in reverse or turn right ? DUH!

I could rant on this topic for hours if it would do any good but I won't 'cause it has already proved to be fruitless.

John, you sound like your blood pressure might be up!!  I better tell you about my product!!  LOL!

Just because the signature contains a url, you don't have to click on it - or even read it, do you?

Personally, I love to see what others are involved in, especially those people I have grown to respect through reading their posts.

Have a great day!!

You are right on the money with this topic. It applies to all forums, here and in other places. One of the problems I have seen since the internet is that people have taken the "Network" out of "Network Marketing." You are just merely a $$ sign in the eye of your upline, in some cases of course.

People see a new person on a message board  or an ad, and it turns into meat to a lion. We are all "pushing" a business here. And yes we would love to sign everyone into our biz. But, that cannot be so, I want people to sign up that are going to put in work. Not the person that wants the easy way. It does not work that way.

Everything with time and some effort works out. Remember that if someone likes you they will be more likely to look at your business. But, it doesn't happen overnight.

Patience, Doreen

Hi John,

In your profile setup you have an area to place what is known as your sig file. Signature files are automatically added to the end of each post you make in the system. This is an acceptable practice in many forums.
