Hi...
========================= My point is that our best friends may not be accurate... =========================
EXCELLENT point. For many people, there is one thing that replaces "due diligence" - and that's perception of trust. And that's where "communities" can become very dangerous places.
Because people come to a community and they make friends. They share jokes and fun and talk about their interests and problems. They join birthday clubs and interest groups and they chat and laugh every day and they DO feel like they have made friends. And friends don't lead each other astray, right? WRONG.
Online, friends lead each other astray every day. To the tune of billions in losses.
It's a worn out old record, but 12 Daily pro was a perfect example. There were many people here urging their "friends" to join... and now the IRD and SEC have ALL those names in hand and are still working on the list to determine who was a victim, who made a profit, and who made profit without claiming the income. When the dust settles, there will be a lot of people in very sad situations because of FRIENDS.
Due diligence is ALWAYS required. Often, your "friends" haven't done theirs either, and when push comes to shove, we all live with the results of our OWN actions. Friends, or not.
