Hi Jason,
Well, I USED to be like you in that respect only being 72 has slowed me down more than I care to admit.
Since I used to be a super "party person" and was out dancing and drinking a lot, I was often in places where fights would break out. On more than one occasion,
I found myself in the middle of stopping a fight before I realized I had left the girl I was dancing with just standing there and wondering where I had gone.
So I would have to go back and apologize for not even saying something like: "excuse me for a bit, I'll be back soon."
One of the many things I have observed is that when something happens, like the bombing of the Olympics in Atlanta by a Christian Terrorist, (Eric Robert Rudolph) where there is a possibility of those responding of being injured, people fall into three categories.
One can see what I am referring to by watching videos of the bombing in Atlanta. In it, you can see one group of people just stand there like deer in the headlights of a car, and a larger group runs as fast as they can away from what just happened.
While the third, & sadly smallest group of people, disregard any danger to them- selves and run toward whatever happened to see if they can help.
I am one of the last group and methinks you are also the type of person who runs toward danger to help rather than away from it to save your own butt.
Please, Take Care!
Neil
