Thank you Chris for this post - today my family gathered along with hundreds of others at the cenotaph in our town - all of the local parish churches along with the British Legion marched there for a brief service, last post and 2 minute silence.
It has become clear to me that over the years the numbers of ex service men present has dwindled as age has claimed them but sadly due to the state of our world today we will be gathering there for many years to come remembering not only them but the more recent casualties of war today.
'We will remember them.'
