Hi Chris,

Here is a couple of facts not many know.

The British Legion sells Poppies to raise funds to help the British ex military during November.

What many may not know is  that of all the charities there are the  British legion is the only one where the majority of the money collected actually goes to be used inhelping the Ex military.

I dont know recent figures but the last time I did a survey on this  the funds used for overheads was only 6% leaving 94% to be used for the purpose that it was collected for. Compare this to other chatities that I surveyed  where only 6% to 10% went to the purpose that it was collected for and the rest going in overheads.

Hello Bill and thank you for sharing this wonderful information today.

The Royal British Legion is an awesome charity.

It has prompted me to share with others around the world what Remembrance Sunday is all about. Here goes......

Remembrance Sunday - 11am on the 11th of November

Remembrance Sunday occurs in Britain at the beginning of November. It falls on the Sunday closest to the 11th November and is usually referred to as Remembrance Sunday or occasionally Armistice Day. This particular date was chosen in recognition of the end of World War I (at the time referred to as The Great War). The end of World War I happened in 1918 on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour, 11am on the 11th of November. Some people still observe a two minute silence at this time. Some places will observe this silence on the actual day, some on Remembrance Sunday. However, today Remembrance Sunday is used to remember all those who have given their lives whilst serving Britain.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for this nice Remebrance Tribute.
That period was a bad period for humanity.
Lots of people died just for more or less nothing.

It was for redraw the borders in Europe.

I give a minute to all people that fell or died.
My people went trough a genocide the same period.

Warm Regard

Hi Chris :) Yes, We Will Remember Them
Remembrance Day is the day Australians remember those who have died in war. At 11am on 11 November we pause to remember the sacrifice of those men and women who have died or suffered in wars and conflicts and all those who have served during the past 100 years.
