Hehe..I think I need to go to bed.
Too many posts for one day:)

The thought was "reverse psychology"
and some marketers used to teach that
if you told people not to do something they
would do it just out of curiosity. I guess that
will get a few people to open it...but then what?

You got it..delete.

All that mental energy so little brains.

If I get an email where they look like they're
desperate, that tells me the product isn't
worth it's own weight. If the product is good
enough you don't have to be sneaky to get
the word out. The buzz gets around on it's own
when people use the product or service and
talk about it.

DID YOU KNOW? The U.S. Social Security Board reports that 85 out of 100 Americans reaching age 65 don't possess as much as $250.  Roger, here is the kind of subject line I really don't like.

We will blast your ad to .....

I would rather have my ad seen by 100 willing people than have it  rudely BLASTED to one million people who have absolutely no interest in it.

If the subject line is even remotely connected to the word "blast' then I know it is not for me.

Maybe it could be compared like this.

We could offer a glass of cold water to a thirsty person who would welcome it.

While the other approach would be the fire department's very high pressure water hose which can drench an entire crowd.  However, I strongly doubt if even one person in that crowd was happy to receive their glass of cold water in that particular manner.

Great example Wayne.
I get a little ticked when I see the word "spillover".
It's been way overused and I just don't see it happening.
I think maybe they should change it to "drip down".
